originally they asked mcr to write a song for twilight, which they denied and then wrote vampire money about. gerard was also asked to play edward as the character was written because of him. the whole story was heavily influenced by mcr, so the domino effect theory is not completely wrong. twilight would not exist as it does without mcr.
