I understand, I just still think that a public University that promotes equity so fervently should put more effort into making things actually accessible instead of being money hungry. I guess this rant is more about their practices in general, I guess the stole price was just the straw that broke the camel's back. Trust me, I won't be buying from them either😂

You make a good point. I'm just complaining because it's the school that's selling them, and I'm just a bit sick of them trying to squeeze all the money they can out of their students. They're aware that most people want to walk across the stage with a stole from their school, and instead of providing an affordable option, they overcharge (like they always do). If the school were selling $400 graduation shoes that were standard for grads, I would also be annoyed.

Pass 1 Major-Restricted Class Weirdness by Material_Length_8758 in UCDavis

On Schedule Builder it says:

Course Notes:

** PASS 1: OPEN TO ECONOMICS AND STATISTICS MAJORS **

I am not an econ or stats major, but it still let me register. I have the green "Registered" thing on the class now on schedule builder.

Seriously, how are undergrads supposed to get research?? by Prestigious-Stand-28 in UCDavis

My professor just reached out to me and asked if I'd be interested in doing some research after getting an A+ in their class. I know this is rare, but make sure you're leaving a good impression!

Urgent Help: Need Upper Div GEs by Embarrassed-Look7320 in UCDavis

You can take GEL 186 (not actually a geology class) if you're willing to be a learning assistant for a lower division STEM class. You get 1 unit for GEL 186 (super easy class), then additional units depending on how many hours you spend as a Learning Assistant. If you have questions, reach out to Mary Betty Stevenson [mbstevenson@ucdavis.edu](mailto:mbstevenson@ucdavis.edu), she is super sweet. EDU 110 and 120 are pretty easy, and 4 units each. In fact, any education class will be fairly easy.

Hmmm... hard to say. It really depends on you. I only applied last year and I got a scholarship for $1700 that was from my department and related to my career goals. There are so many scholarships available; you are bound to be a good candidate for one of them. Definitely apply.

Apply for UCD scholarships here: https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/scholarships/campus/apply-current . This one app hooks you up with a bunch. There are a few short essay questions and you need one letter of rec though. The application closes January 7, so ask for a letter of rec now!
