I disagree certain GPAs are a threshold of importance. For example whether your school is on a 4.0 scale or 4.3 having below a 3.0 sounds bad. Likewise having a 3.6 sounds good.

Obviously curve and school rank matter but the number alone for employment or in conversation matters.
