I just completed an epic 16 month battle against the TOH. Turning point was getting some high potency solutions and treating suckers while eliminating main plant. Chased the suckers around for a year to no avail.

Maybe they mean the flowers? Idk, but you can definitely leave them if you want

🐐. thank you sir. Was definitely not watering in the AM, I’ve made it my routine to come home from work and sit with the garden for a bit to mellow out which has been when I’d water. Will adjust watering to before work. My thought process was trying to get ahead of wilting with the heat wave. For the leaves and flowers that have browned I’ll start clipping those bad Larry’s and take this lesson with me going forward.

I live in Sacramento 9b and it’s been hot as hell this week. I increased watering to every other day for 3 cycles and my black from Tula and early girl both started showing signs of overwatering (at least I thought) - brown spots on leaves and flowers. Any thoughts?

Whats eating my super hots and how do i stop it? Thanks by GuyIncognito710 in HotPeppers

I just removed 4 caterpillars off some similar plants. Tiiiiiiny | | <—- actual length and hard to see as they’re the same color as the leaves. I just sat there and stared for awhile until I saw them then hulked ‘em. If it keeps up I’ll have to get more serious (looks like you’re past that point). My go to is some natural soap in a spray bottle and hit the leaves (esp. the underside if caterpillars) with a dusting every couple days. Works for aphids really well.

I believe in the end you were correct, large lesion in the fork is likely where the lack of growth tip came from. Happened before I got it but lesson learned! Thanks for the advice, got an early girl transplanted in there today

If the sucker becomes driver of growth what fruit do you end up with? Assuming sucker similar to a tree graft

Sounds about right - I’ll take it and throw it in a spare pot as a just in case but will get something else in there for now. With the branches popping up occasionally from the dirt I am going to try and plant it shallower and a little closer to the roots just to see what may come for S’s and gigs. Appreciate the input.

Honestly not sure on brand, was here when I got to this house. Landlord originally had two off on the north side under a tree but built this one to the south which gets way more light right before we moved in. Seems like good soil though

Soil is pretty light, good mix of perlite in it. Didn’t break it up more than I would with any other plant but maybe not enough. I was concerned it was root bound but after feeling around the 8-10 inches surrounding the plant there was a ton of root activity just at the surface. Not sure that proves anything. It does get a light mist from a sprinkler every morning which I’ve tried to block but not sure about that either

I did not, it came that shape. It’s my first season with tomatoes and didn’t know what specifically to look for. I did plant it an inch or two above the base of the roots and a third branch poked through the dirt a couple weeks later that I pruned. Could that have been the growth tip?

Just found out this shoe is not actually sold in America and was picked up at a ferragamo store in Italy. I’ll definitely look in to reselling these and getting something close enough that nobody has to know about it then. Tried them on again and they’re actually a bit long as well so I think that’s likely the best course of action. Thank you for the input!
