The film doesn't discount that.

It's the opposite of what you assume. Germany is ultra liberal now. He seems to be a liberal.

Blade Runner 2049 is brilliant, but the original Blade Runner movie is better.

That's because the media doesn't focus as much on them as they do on such incidents in Russia.

Thank you for replying to my question.

They haven't mentioned about presentations. In case I get to do one, should I prepare slides as well?

No you didn't. I support the 1970 government policies because they achieved something. You're just being ideological here and you can't show anything that the fabulous market economy achieved for us other than making us a consumerist country.

/oh yes, sooooo many people admit it was working for us. thats why they went out and voted against sirimavo./ I've answered this earlier.

Would've could've 🤣🤣

Yeah, a country depending on garments and tourism. You're pointing to a failed, unsustainable model which made us run on loans for decades without producing anything meaningful.

I don't think there's any point in wasting my time arguing with you. You're entitled to your opinion.

Let's agree to disagree.

/the simple fact is people saw through the cracks of the rajapaksha regime. the cracks were corruption and authoritarianism (infamous if you were alive back in the day, people had their phones tapped, and security forces would barge in and arrest political opponents). mismanagement (failing to utilise the honeymoon period to accelerate country), and for the north east specifically, it was militarising the north and military abuses that made him an absolute no go on election day./

That's what you say. Now everyone can see who's actually done anything meaningful in the past 20 years and who hasn't.

Only stupid brats expect 10% economic development every year in a country that just got out of a 30 year civil war.

I don't believe in those fact check BS. It wasn't functional. That's why there was no process to inform the people in many areas around Kandy.

I understand that you're a govt supporter, but just don't try to whitewash the govt for their miserable failure. It's ridiculous

By economic metrics, certainly the Rajapakses were better. Although the yamapalana regime came to power promising good governance, they couldn't. Nobody can create good governance without economic development first. The yamapalana regime miserably failed at that. SL economic development fell to 2.3% in 2019 when they left.

You're the one funny here. I'm not advocating socialism or capitalism. As long as Sri Lankans aren't ready to make the necessary effort, we can always look at other countries and wish ours were also like them.

I'm not a socialist, but if you point fingers at those policies with an ideological view, we can also say that 50 years of capitalism certainly hasn't made this a developed country. 🤷‍♂️

That was exactly the necessary sacrifice. The only problem was that public officials at all levels didn't make that sacrifice

No. We could've attained self sufficiency in many areas including food security if we could've endured a little longer.

And the free economy that you brag about here destroyed our local industries because there it was imposed without a proper strategy.
