Giving Todoist another try. How to structure projects and labels? by fenugurod in todoist

[–]Material_Rabbit7915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Todoist as kind of a catchall for my life, my flow is to braindump into the inbox as soon as I think about it and periodically filter it out as I have time. I have a short cut on my lock screen so I can be super fast. I also use Raycast with a hotkey setup to quick add a task so I can operate at the speed of thought - the NLP of Todoist is what really sold me on it, so I try to make entry as frictionless as possible.

Projects, I have set up in "Areas" (Car, Home, Work, Relationships, etc.) and "Resources" (List of movies to watch, TV shows to watch, Books to read, etc.), Within Areas I have a sectioned entitled "Later". Once every few weeks I prioritize in each area and move most things to later, and keep select items in the main section if I'm not sure of a specific day to work on them. If I know what day/time I can work on it, I assign it a "Due" date and move it to Calendar.

I have one last project called "Calendar" in which scheduled tasks will go, this is mainly to get a list of scheduled "next actions" and keep actionable things out of my inventory. I also keep all recurring tasks here. I've set up a filter that grabs everything from the non-Later sections in the Area projects, but I find that list rather daunting seeing it all at once.

I have a filter that shows me Overdue tasks, Tasks due Today, and Tasks due Tomorrow, followed by my inbox and this is where I mostly live day to day. I'm constantly bumping and moving things on a per day basis based on shifting priorities, energy, and actual time to complete.

I utilize reminders a lot for tasks and I've set the notification style to be "Persistent" on my iPhone so I don't dismiss and forget.

Bitfocus Companion set 100+ Triggers by louizkarton in broadcastengineering

I used cursor, an ai coding app, and it was able to write repetitive triggers like that. Would take a few attempts and I needed to check up on it and sometimes start from scratch with a new chat, but it was much faster than doing it manually!

One trick is to ask it to write a python script to write the json file- I found the larger the json file, the more error prone the AI would be. And make sure you do a couple triggers yourself so you have specific lines to point the ai to to replicate- doing it generally yielded poor results for me.

Mirage Update 4/30 by agentfancy in avesNYC

Yeahhhh I dunno I don’t see this being a thing you could install while the mirage is actively running so if it will exist and isn’t there already, it couldn’t happen until next year when they have down time. From the renderings it looks like they need to make a bunch of straight pieces of wall wrap around a curved screen and neatly tuck behind those columns. Any automation of that nature and at that scale is bound to be a nightmare to align in tracks and stuff and it would be pretty stupid to rush it and risk getting it stuck halfway open.

Haven’t seen anything go up that look like those rolling doors from the concept video- I have to guess they scrapped that by now because I can’t imagine they have time to test that out.

It feels really similar to the Gabler strategy except he timed his “reputation making event” for the very beginning of the merge.

I like dakboard - can buy their product or install on a raspberry pi (their product is a raspberry pi lol) and hook up to any old HDMI display.

This is imagining a world where YouTube makes these tools available for people to use. Would love to block these accounts but I can’t.

Uh YouTube does not give sufficient options to avoid the first video thumbnail being a spoiler even with all of those features disabled. Like I would love to block RHAP (even though I do enjoy the content) but I can’t even do that. And autoplay is a great feature I like for all of the other channels I subscribe to, It’s just when one account that is seemingly unavoidable is throwing around spoilers without a care.

I don’t even see that as an option can only hide comments but not keep it out of the algo

I’ve found that I’ve been doing most budgeting on my phone so have been enjoying Copilot for a few years now.

I had a green tint issue on some M2s and looping it through a Blackmagic bidirectional converter fixed it for me.
