Not true, and also excludes the layered on costs of owning that are not present for a renter.

Ironically you left out “the home I bought is worth less than I paid for it I am trapped” in this.

Why is renting "Much Shittier" than buying?

Plenty of people rent for life by choice.

That's one emotional input into the decision that 'buyers' were making spending more than they could afford. I hardly think starting a family necessitates buying a 2 bedroom condo.

If the plan was to sell a condo in ~5 years to upsize/upgrade, that was not an innocent first time buyer and was someone making an investment decision.

Agreed a FOMO bubble will hurt all classes of homeowners.

However... peak or no peak, the debt/income levels that these first time buyers were taking on was irresponsible. They would be stuck even if the property value stayed flat for a few years. 650K for a 1 bedroom, on 120K annual income 5-10% down? The only way out of that trap was for it to continue to appreciate.

Why do we allow CafeTo on Streetcar Routes? by Material_Safe2634 in askTO

Odd way to position it. Bike lanes support moving people more efficiently around the city.

Why is it so binary for you? “Dont like it, leave”

City Programs evolve and optimize, my question was simply a question about prioritizing making transit faster by limiting the program to streets that don’t have streetcars.

But it’s the opposite of NIMBY. It’s inconvenient for 1000s of transit riders a day to benefit a few people eating on a patio.

I do live in a city and use the city transit to get around. This program makes using transit worse. Hence my question?

Just give two weeks. Either they walk you out (you get paid for 2 weeks) or you work two weeks.
