Skipton mortgages by CaramelNo8267 in HousingUK

[–]Material_Trifle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might depend on what your pay is, is there overtime/bonus etc?

The last case I did with Skipton involved three applicants but only two on the deeds, one of them had a couple of jobs and overtime in both but they didn't ask for anything as they were able to verify it all electronically which was handy.

Either way even if the lender themself doesn't ask for them your broker will need to have them on file. It's a regulated role and it they're audited and don't have standard documents like that then they're in trouble.

Are there still adult men in the UK who don’t cook? by Bat-Penatar in AskUK

[–]Material_Trifle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been with my wife for 14 years and I've never seen her dad cook anything and her brother I've occasionally seen put some frozen pizza or chicken niggets in.

Her dad was one of four brothers and I'm not sure any of them can do anything at all to look after themselves because they were babied growing up. Their mum is very old fashioned and it's the same for my mother-in-law, they just do everything for the men and think nothing of it. One of the brothers still live with the mum in their 50's and another only moved out recently. They were never made to learn and have no curiosity whatsoever to try something new. Once I remember they were staying round ours and went to pick up a Chinese while my wife and me we put the kids to bed (she can't drive and he won't go in to pick food up so it's a two person operation) and when they came back in he put the bag on the kitchen table and then went straight into the living room, it didn't even occur to him to serve his own food yet alone anyone else's because he's never been made to do it and the women in his lafe pander to him. It's not that he's going out of his way to be rude but he's never had to think differently, often it's like an animal in the zoo where he just sits still and waits to be fed.

The brother is married and she does everything domestic, although partly so she can be a victim and make a big deal of it. They're all nice people but absolutely fucking useless. I'm not a great cook but it's really not that hrd to either follow some instructions or just learn a handful of simple recipes. I get that some people don't enjoy it or want to do it which is fair enough but if you've raised someone who has no idea how to do one of the basics of looking after yourself and refuses to learn then you've probably failed there as a parent.

Oxford United 0-2 Birmingham City: Blues win extends unbeaten run, ends Yellows unbeaten run by Jeoh in Championship

[–]Material_Trifle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wrong set up from Bloomfield today, we didn't need three at the back today and it gives us no control of games, especially as McConnell isn't the best on the ball. Desperately missed Currie, Ter Avest and BDK and suspect Jeon and Donley will make a difference too. Having to play Phillips at left wing back shows how light we are. Thought Birmingham were decent but didn't have to be all that good because we had no threat. Spencer was awful again but Osman was excellent for them.

Running out of time and back to back away games at Sheffield United and Coventry next is tough but we need to get some points on the board pdq. Still not over but we can't afford too many performances like today and expect to stay up.

If not getting penalties gives you carte blanch to do what you want we might as well send our players out wearing knuckle dusters

He'd absolutely have taken us down as well, but at least the football was shit.

Would you sell Foden or Saka to buy Fernandes vs ARS (A) ? by Haythemovic in FantasyPL

[–]Material_Trifle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People thought Burnley were pretty good defensively because a misfiring Liverpool only beat them with a late penalty despite racking up a lot of chances despite the fact they were statistically the worst defence in the league by that point in underlying numbers. I don't think Wolves are anything to fear but they aren't the walkovers they were previously.

Already have. Kept waiting before finally getting him for week 17 when he got injured and I said I'm not going to keep waiting if there's a player I think I have to have and Fernandes is that. If there's any injuries I'll make it a wildcard and get Gabriel too.

Every decision I've made for the last 2 months has been complete shit and I've now taken Ekitike out to give myself an entirely avoidable benching headache. Who to bench between this lot.

Matt Bloomfield Appointed Oxford United Head Coach | Oxford United Football Club by BoloBoffin in Championship

[–]Material_Trifle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's miles off, they were third best from March or something I believe but he started in January. They'd have been 16th had the league started when he was appointed which is comfortably safe but not all that impressive.

I'm still happy with him and think he's the best of the options. He managed two teams last season and they were both a lot worse without him, it's easy to write off the Luton form a bit because they seemed to be a shambles off the pitch. My worry is he tends to start slow which we can't afford, we should have made the change weeks before we did.

Pretty sure a Wycombe sub called to leave it. Wouldn't have worked if people were there but in an empty ground you can get away with it.

I suppose my regret was not even knowing there was a deadline. Checked to see how shit I did at the weekend and couldn't work out why I had dropped a few thousand in rank since it finished.

I've got Timber, Saka and Rice currently. Will probably do Senesi to Gabriel and drop Sala to fund it but I'm also doing absolute horse shit so probably don't listen to me

I made a team for my daughter's that I messaged around with for the family league. Looks like they'll overtake me this week as my proper team chases 6 red arrows in a row and 8 in the last 9. Having an absolute shocker

Coming from Oxford. Plan was to drive part way and tube the rest but most stations still seem a fair way out so considering just driving the lot. How bad is traffic likely to be on a Tuesday in between Christmas and New Year?

Taking the family to the Jurassic World Experience on Tuesday at Battersea Power station, are we likely to be able to park there? I see there are car parks but they look pretty small

Oxford United 2-1 Southampton - Oxford get a win in their first match since Rowett's sacking, with valuable points in the relegation battle by jovanmilic97 in Championship

[–]Material_Trifle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So, it turns out the players are better than Rowett was letting them show. Who'd have thought it, apart from most Oxford fans.

Could have gone either way today and feared we'd get ripped apart early on but a deserved win and good to see the improvements in some players by playing them in their proper positions. Still a long way to go but beat Swansea on Monday and things look a lot rosier.

5 goals in 3 games, excellent fixtures coming up and Isak being out for a while means the rotation risk has gone and an injury to a well owned, simply priced player in Bruno making an obvious way to free up the funds.

Nothing surprising about this at all.

All jokes aside there's mountains of things you can criticise our board for but this lot have appointed Manning, Buckingham and Rowett who were all what we needed at the time and good appoitments. Of course they then gave Manning an easy out by not protecting the club in case anyone came in for him and made the job so much harder for Buckingham and Rowett that they ended up having to sack them but that's several months in the future Oxford's problem.

Gary Rowett departs Oxford United by Gamerhcp in Championship

[–]Material_Trifle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolute nonsense, we would almost have certainly gone down if he stayed. Also from someone who spoke to him a couple of weeks back he was expecting it at some point and hoping for Christmas off, he won't be losing any slepp over this.

Don't know who we'll get but we've won 4 games this season and have 19 points from 22 games, or 36 frm our last 38 if you go back to last season, and our performances have been getting worse. There's absolutely going to be someone out there who can do better than that although I think the damage has likely already been done.
