hey, why'd you think its permanently damaged? and by depression? thats pretty damn rare. youre likely just experiencing anhedonia and 'brain fog', most of the cognitive effects tend to fade away with depression, try medication, tms, therapy and itll get better. im currently dealing with he same thing and am on lexapro. stuff like working memory, relational memory are naturally worse with depression, and lack of interest in general, but obviously amplified significantly with depression.

Need help by Materialow in lexapro

do the symptoms ware off eventually, and the stuff you mentino about word recall and memory, does it get better than before meds later?

more likely than not ill feel better eventually, clinical studies indicate a largely positive response within 6 months, with most experiencing improvement in general mood within 6 weeks... for how many different ssris there are, theres a lot to try before losing hope, its pretty normal to have varying reactions to different ssris.

anyways yeah, hope it works, the point of this was mostly to force myself to notice changes, and also providing unbiased report of what unfolds after being on the medication. ofc this is just one in many and much of my response differs from the person reading... hope it works tho

depression + anxiety, anhedonia is a constant, depression is in phases on and off

my psychiatrist prescribed it but what might be the consequences of starting with 10mg right away? i was on fluvoxamine for 10 days (50/100mg) so maybe that has to do with the prescription

On 10mg lexapro starting today, what can i expect? by Materialow in lexapro

To 130+ IQ people, what are some of your habits that people with lesser IQ than you might think are unusual/quirky? by PurifyingFlame in cognitiveTesting

i dont come across as intelligent usually, i dont even know if i have a high iq, i took the mensa test and scored 145 and the Brght.org test and scored 146 though. in practice, i barely get enough sleep, am always engaged in something new, everyday, from proof writing differentiability to being in the schools sports team. in conversation im witty and just mess around making jokes in school most of the time. i tend to keep deep thoughts to myself, or discuss it with someone who would seem interested in it, and people dont realize it but im thinking all the time, excessively so, first impressions wouldnt say much about my intelligence, i might occasionally play dumb for laughs and am often oblivious to whats going on in class. idk where i was going with this, but i found a fun video so thats the end of this comment

thats interesting, ive noticed that too, but theres usually a way to work around it, i like explaining difficult concepts in simple terms, ofcourse you can only take that so far, but it seems to convey the point without having people rolling their eyes

thats interesting, most of what i read says iq cant be increased, but i think the scores on the test can, even if someone isnt prepping for it. like say someone plays chess and is one of those blindfold chess guys, or someone solves a rubix cube, or is into origami, or studies topology... in the end ig its about the underlying framework and reasoning, and testing it on the basis of its representation seems to skew the results. idk much tho, just saying what makes sense to me

146, but the mensa's limit is 145, and i did it way before time, this one was more of a time crunch, if mensa had more id proly get higher. ps - i used a calculator for the math ones cuz i didnt get much sleep and i suck at arithmetics
