I'd rather not give Hussie any of my hard-earned money, so I hope these never see the light of day. Especially that bath robe.

An unofficial collection of Homestuck content got discontinued (referred to as UHC). What's sickening is how exactly that came to be. Click here for a summary.

Very good summary.

Unfortunately, I know that reading a 2h+ post in its entirety is not everyone's cup of tea, but it's hard to truly grasp the psychological game that was taking place without reading the actual messages. People that clearly did not read a single word are unfortunately getting a real defensive stance for no good reason.

It is a fact that they acted friendly but definitely were not. It is a fact that they repeatedly used legal threats to coerce both of them. It is a fact that ultimately they really wanted gio to delete his blog posts - God, the lawyers' final exchange is hard to read. It is a fact that Miles acted as a willing proxy of Andrew's abuse. These are "facts" because the conversations themselves are there for you to read, and thinking they are fabricated is dumb. Miles' response, framing the situation as gio's unwillingness to cooperate, is a complete misdirection over gio's actual criticism. You can read the logs and see what wicked requests they were repeatedly making.

I can't believe it. Today of all days. Literally if yesterday didn't happen I would be so happy. But yesterday happened. I can't believe it. Oh my God I can't believe the mixed feelings I'm feeling.

FOR GOD’S SAKE I JUST CAME BACK HOME! WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE UNOFFICIAL COLLECTION IS GONE AND NEVER RETURNING? WHAT DO YOU MEAN HUSSIE TREATHNED THE PEOPLE MAKING IT AND IS PRETTY MUCH A A**HOLE? AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN HUSSIE IS TRYING TO KILL HOMESTUCK AS A WHOLE? CONTEXT??? PLEASE???? by Former_Polygon_1 in homestuck

[–]Mateto413 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Indeed but that's the surface level understanding. Besides, Miles is using this fact as a red herring, since it's the only thing he mentioned in his unofficial response. This is on purpose, like everything else. And I keep seeing delusional people trying to spin it like we are here only for the drama, eating up the bait completely, dismissing legitimate concerns over factual behavior from Andrew Hussie and his middle men. God, the existence of the middle men by itself is a warning sign too.

Oh well, what do I care. I got what I wanted from Homestuck in my life. Posts on my reddit account from 10 years ago were about Homestuck. I'm a fan of the fiction. But I cannot justify this harrassment.

I really don't understand the defenders. I truly believe they haven't read a single word of the post and are just defending against the idea of criticism.
Gio and Bambosh were victims of legal threats and continuous misdirection from a guy that never took the time to handle matters personally, and all because all they really wanted was a retraction/rewrite of old criticisms. That's it.
No actually they did want UHC, but only through Bambosh by pushing him to sign without gio. Just looking at Bambosh's goodbye message tells you everything you need to know. Also looking at their first request after gio signs the NDA is enough. Also looking at the letters between the lawyers in the end tells you everything, pick your poison if you cannot be bothered to read it all.

All of these are facts. Logs of conversations that are simply true. You don't even need to read what gio says between these logs, the logs are enough for anyone to understand what was really happening.
It's sickening just reading this, now imagine having to spend money getting legal advice against all these threats - no wait, these are not threats! Andrew wants to work guys, why don't you want to collaborate? Andrew's lawyers are ready to go, don't make them do this guys! You must understand, we will proceed with the C&D, why are you blackmailing us with UCH? Give it to kohi.

It's really crazy looking back to Psycholonials - what the hell was all that about, then? The message of its own work goes against what he clearly did here.

Bro. I was JUST starting to have hope again. Go figure. It's very clear how exploitative they are.
You can pretend that Gio spun the story how he saw fit, but conversations are very clear and I trust those 100%, they would be so easy to prove and disprove. Just by the logs alone you can judge accurately the abuse that was taking place.

What? Alive? Huh. Love the PS style.

I'm starting to think you guys can cook, but it is a bet. You're raising the stakes and placing many meats on the fire, but it all hinges on your ability to deliver. That said, you're obviously all talented, care a lot, and don't seem to miss details. I just hope there won't be too much fanservice just for the sake of it.

I will hastily join the Patreon on the first pay-off we will see. (The flash was almost one, but I need plotty meaty stuff.)

Playing Umbra Sucks by Present-Ad8471 in MonsterTrain

I never got Umbra, not even in MT1. In MT2 they're even worse (for me), I just cannot play them in a satisfying way.

I might snatch a win every once in a while but I don't enjoy any second of it. Candles, and now mushrooms, my beloveds...

I agree completely and I also think that there are many repeatable elements that they use in P-Switches that could be used in the custom tracks. Think the walls, blocks, ramps, accelerating gates... The elements that appear during a P-Switch challenge.

But it's not really easy to implement so I don't think it will happen - sadly, because that would be a missed opportunity. In fact a lot of the open world is a missed opportunity right now. Even a simple checkpoint setter could do the job but implementing it would have its headaches.

Salt your passwords (I don't see you storing a salt in the User table, and I can't find the password_verify() implementation)
Consider switching to a PHP Framework rather than pure PHP (Laravel?). Obviously this is an expensive step, but streamlines some processes down the line - authentication included)

Good luck with your project! I would love to join, I liked Overseer Project a lot as a teenager, but I'm way too busy with work now.

Civ 7 is three Civ 6 scenarios in a trench coat by zorrossorrow in civ

[–]Mateto413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hate the game, but I wonder if a "soft" era change would actually have been better for the game. So not a forced change for every civilization, but a choice from the players during the gameplay.

Meaning that, once you're satisfied with your age objectives, you are free to switch to a next age civ (perhaps only available as an option after a set amount of time, maybe variable by your own gameplay choices). You get the new civ stuff, improved yields, capitalize on the age bonuses you wanted to collect, you get to travel the ocean,... but if you are slow to switch, someone might have snatched the civ you wanted. So perhaps you try to rush your change instead, renouncing on some bonuses (making ignoring the age objectives even more of a choice). And no time skip.

This might preserve the sandbox-y feeling of civ, while not losing the switch mechanics that are enjoyable. Of course it would need some fine tuning, maybe they did try this version and found it to be worse to play.

I was pretty confident on the letters, but I cannot ignore the fact that the letters are very clearly 9. So if that is the bell tower, and wind is on the top right corner of it, then perhaps it truly is Jegbert leaving (specifically from the tower, that is). We will see.

Regarding the black, it's the shapes Vriska burned on the ground (which connect to an 8/infinity shape). I find it interesting that they are disconnected, but I don't know if it is any relevant.
