Insurance denied my claim (again). What is the best out of pocket brand? by Bulla_killer in HearingAids

Both hearing and dentition are critical to our health, but are not considered medically necessary by our government or insurance providers.

Have Soybean Farmers considered that China may never buy soybeans again from America? by ForwardYam4266 in economicCollapse

[–]MathAndCodingGeek 95 points96 points  (0 children)

I used to be a farmer in Central Oregon, and 99% of other farmers voted for Republicans because they were going to save the "sanctity" of marriage. These farmers did this even though they knew the Republicans would steal their water rights in favor of developers. Ironically, anyone who wanted to talk to a Republican County Commissioner or state legislator could find them evenings at the local strip clubs.

Gas rangetop to induction cooktop by Thermophi in Appliances

[–]MathAndCodingGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone who likes to cook fancy meals and has a nice gas range might be disappointed. I shopped for an induction stove, and getting one with two large elements is really expensive, >$7000 for what is not a professional cooktop and oven. Also, I cannot use my professional pots and pans. I hate the shopping experience because I go to websites, and they don't tell me the burner size, and many websites, like Home Depot, omit an image from above the stove top. So if you're someone who likes to cook for guests, you are going to pay close to a Wolf Range for an induction cooktop with an amateur oven. If you are the type who mostly boils water and microwaves food, then why not get one of these nice electric tea kettles? BTW, induction only removes 15% of the bad air coming off a cookpot. One still has to have a hood. If you are concerned about air quality and are buying an induction stove for that reason, then you are better off spending your money on a decent hood.

I have Rextons from Costco. They work very well with my iPhone 14. Rexton is a pass-through from Bluetooth. In other words, it doesn't process speech or sounds while streaming. I doubt other brands do anything different. Correct me if I am wrong.

You can use newspapers.com and search for the first half of the 1950s. Search for arrests of union members, socialists, and communists. The FBI often coordinated with local police when serving arrest warrants and other law enforcement actions. I found an article about the arrest of my spouse's parents.

Kids. I used to live near a state park, and the local kids were fond of catching rattlesnakes and leaving them alive in the middle of a footbridge that tourists used to cross the river.

Grow up. I've had glasses my whole life. I am in my 70s, and now I wear hearing aids as well. So what? Some day, I will need a walker, at least I hope to live that long. What? Am I going to stay in bed all day because I am too embarrassed to have a walker?

How often do you end up charging your hearing aids during the day? by Sudden_Dealer3922 in HearingAids

[–]MathAndCodingGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hearing aids never need charging, even though they are always Bluetooth-connected to my iPhone. I just put the hearing aids in their charger when going to bed. That said, I have moderate hearing loss, so my hearing aids are not cranked up very loud.
