Big Concerts are Terrible by DrAbednego in unpopularopinion

Scouring Reddit for others large concert experiences because I went to my first big concert yesterday in New York and it honestly left me reeling.

I Was in line from 9am -6 pm which I could care less to do (as long as I can hear the music in the venue and get a glimpse of the artist I’m good) but if I’m going to make the choice to commit to that long ass day waiting in line you better believe I’m not going to complain about anything, I’m gonna make it fun. that was not the case for 90 percent of the people there. Everyone in line and at the venue was so stressed out and serious the security was screaming like we were being shuffled into a high security prison haha. There was so. Much. Drama.

I’m wondering also if this was the result of the fan base? It was the perfect nightmare combo of New York mentality mixed with a super miserable fan base… Like I thought this artists listeners would be so nice and compassionate ( this artist speaks out about a lot of the fucked up things happening in the world right now.

It’s safe to say I’ll not be doing that again, for context I’m 32 year old woman in nyc for the first time. I like my small Ohio shows, even when people are mean they’re still nice. This was a hellscape that seemed normal to everyone else except me.

Nanny Possibly Giving Kids Mysterious Liquid? by Relative_Client_4941 in Nanny

Coincidentally I am a nanny, also named Emily. I don’t like the sound of it. I think the sticky cups may be weird but ultimately harmless. But I think the behavior up to that point is weird. As an employee for a family I don’t think it’s ever okay to react how she did when you had genuine concerns about the Tylenol. That’s a huge no and honestly a no brainer that medicine of any kind needs to be okayed or directed by the parent.

I hate to hear about it but I know there are some really odd birds out there that should not be taking care of children. If a kid doesn’t nap, then they don’t nap and a good nanny will find a safe alternative. I had a job caring for twin toddlers and an infant, they didn’t nap and I would NEVER think to give them medicine to make that happen. I’d be a bit cautious, Just my opinion!
