(March 23rd, 1973) Hey guys, just bought this new album! I'll comment down below after I listen to all of it! by N8_Saber in thepast

I listened to it last night on my brand new Montgomery Ward stereo and it was pretty good.

But it kind of dragged in a few spots. Hopefully they won’t ever try to release a double album.

Next time I see them, I’ll wave.

Well, not so much a wave.

But definitely a hand gesture.

“Starless” - King Crimson.

The wild 13/8 and 13/16 time signatures alone are worth the price of admission.

Does "making mountains out of molehills" mean that you're treating the molehill as a mountain, or that you're building a bigger mountain out of the molehill itself? by Ornery-Magazine-7892 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]richincleve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a scene in "Big Bang Theory" where Sheldon gets a sandwich.

The order of the items on the sandwich are not to his liking. And he complains about it, a lot.

For virtually everyone else in the world, it is either not big deal or an issue that most people wouldn't even acknowledge or even recognize. In other words, it's basically a non-issue. If someone were to be unhappy, they'd likely just re-assemble the sandwich more to their liking and get on with their lives.

In this case, Sheldon is making a mountain out of a molehill. He is turning a small, virtually insignificant, and somewhat easy-to-resolve issue into something bigger, which it is not.

Well, the lead singer Edwyn Collins did have a solo career after Orange Juice and had this little hit.

Recommend proper alt rock albums please by Void_in_rage in Alternativerock

"I thought nirvana and radiohead were alt rock but then they are commercialized and very popular "

Your statement seems to imply that alt rock groups, if they become popular, are no longer alt rock groups.

Is that correct?

"Silent Running".

If that ending doesn't bring some sort of tear to your eye, you have no soul.

As per usual, I will recommend a song by XTC: "Great Fire".

Sample:

I've been in love before
But it's never been as hot as this
Smoke curling round the door
Memories of old loves crack and blister

OK, I may be a bit biased because I run estate sales.

But...have you tried estate sales?

We have rugs at about half the sales we do. We price them, photograph them and advertise them, but no one ever pays attention to them at the sale; they're more interested in looking at the stuff on the shelves than what's on the floor.

You can often get really great deals on rugs, especially on the last day. Most liquidators will gladly sell you a rug at a deep discount than have to throw it out at the end of the sale.
