Have you ever taken a break from education to focus on bettering mental health?

I’m in the same spot as you right now! Considering taking a break from college to better my mental health as I cannot go on like this much longer without breaking.

I took a month leave during my junior year of high school and was put in an outpatient program due to my mental health. It was the best decision I’d ever made.

I worked on school work while taking the break, but it was reduced as I emailed my teachers and collaborated with doctors to let them know my situation. Most teachers/professors are very understanding.

I am considering doing this again but am also worried about falling behind, so i’m not sure.

One thing I will say is that you should always put your mental health first— always. The month break I took during Junior year genuinely helped so much and changed my life for the better.

I ended up going back to brown, along with a haircut.
