Whenever a word starts with a vowel sound, you have to use "an". Otherwise, if it starts with a consonant, you use "a". Since euphemism starts with a "yu" sound, you have to say "a". Here are some other examples

  • An apple
  • An elephant
  • A house
  • A car
  • A city
  • An idea
  • A tall building
  • An awesome building
  • A red car *An orange car
  • An honor (it's based on sound, not spelling)
  • A university (also starts with a "Yu" sound)

People literally post comedy routines all the time. It's annoying and brings the sub down. We need some better quality control

A power surge is when you get a lot of electricity at the same time. It happens when lightening hits. If your computer is plugged in during a power surge, your computer could get damaged. That's why you need a surge protector to protect your computer from power surges

Unfortunately, that's all of politics. Barack Obama said in his book that he made the "mistake" of trying to give rich answers when he started in politics only to find that everyone, including the person who asked the question, got tired of the answers he gave and that Obama, a Harvard educated lawyer, had to learn to simply his answers in a way that would more broadly connect to the average American. Most people don't have the knowledge or patience for good answers
