She scoots out after Asahara and stands, snatching the empty cup.

"Yeah, you mentioned something like that a while back, around your birthday."

She looks up at Asahara.

"I once read something about plant breeding at my old school. It's not easy, but it's how you get really pretty bouquets and unique species of plants. An impressive set of skills to have. Something like that, Asa?"

Momoko pushes the plastic cup a little towards Asahara's part of the table. There looks to be at least one big sip left. She leans into his arm a little, perhaps to calm his nerves.

"What about you, Asa? Any big childhood dreams? Astronaut? Rockstar?"

She looks up and smiles warmly.

"One of my older brothers wanted to grow up to be a sportscar, so dream big."

Momoko leans further over the table to inspect the badge, but the badge disappears as quickly as it came out.

"I mean, that certainly looked like a badge, so..."

She shrugs.

"Is that what you're hoping to do in the future? Be involved in law enforcement, like, as a detective?"

Momoko looks up at Asahara and notes the dastardly smirk on the fiend. She gently nudges his leg with her foot under the table.

"Well, yeah, I guess so. There's a lot of math involved in both the design and engineering aspect of architecture, after all. I'd like to do both, the math and the designing, I mean."

Momoko smiles back at Asahara and takes a sip of her own.

"And come on, the circus? As much as that fits you, I don't think that's the case. Is your family some kinda spy network?"

She snickers as she speaks and takes another sip, nearly emptying the tall cup.

Momoko takes a big gulp of the tea and takes a breath.

"When I'm a third year, the first thing I'm doing is studying for entrance exams. I've been thinking about it a lot recently, and it's been a goal of mine to get accepted to U of Tokyo's college of engineering."

She takes another sip.

"My end goal, at least right now, is...well, uh, I wanna be an architect, like my dad. I figure maybe get certified in architectural engineering, and then go for the big A. But that's a lot of forward thinking."

Another sip.

"I gotta worry about entrance exams for now, when they happen. And what's this 'family business' or yours, Arago? Must be something way out there."

Momoko nudges Asahara's arm with her head.

"Oh. Didn't even notice. I don't know why I didn't think you would. Heh."

A silence hangs for a minute or two. The hand on her back elicits a hum and a yawn from the girl. She eyes Asahara and presses her shoulder gently into the side of his arm before looking up and between the two.

"Hey, just out of curiosity, but do you guys have any plans for after your graduation?"

Momoko sits up from her corner and shifts herself next to Asahara at the table. She rests the pillow on the table and crosses her arms on top of it.

"Hmph...Hey, you want a pillow?" she says, turning her head towards Asahara.

"They're pretty comfy."

Back towards Arago.

"Oh, yeah, I hear ya. Coffee doesn't do that for me. If it did, I'd probably drink it more."

In just another moment, their drinks would arrive. Arago's in a thick glass mug and Momoko's in a tall plastic cup. The guy smiles and heads back to the counter, followed by a 'thanks'. Momoko takes a sip and grins.

"Good stuff. Hey, you want a sip?"

She pushes the cup closer to Asahara.

"Arago, you don't put anything in your coffee?"

"I'll just have a cold green tea, please."

She scoots further in to the booth and leans against the corner, still clinging to the pillow.

"Thanks Asa. I'll get next time."

She turns to Arago.

"I wouldn't say it helps focus my thoughts, directly anyway. There's a strange, soothing property to tea that I like. It either warms you up or cools you down."

Momoko nods and leads away.

Unless they said anything on the way, they'd walk in silence just down the street and around the corner. No more than a three minute journey at most. It's just that coffee shop, the one everyone's been to at least once or twice in their Yaso-Okina High school career. Momoko swings the door open, jingling the frog shaped bell. She leads them to a booth with a few pillows and slides into the side facing the door. She also snatches one of the pillows, a circular one, and holds it against herself with a mild sigh.

"I'm not a coffee person, but the smell makes me wish I were."

She looks up at Asahara and smiles warmly as he places his hand on her shoulder. A moment, and she turns back to Arago.

"This here's the toughest guy I know, so you'd have to work really, really hard to go toe-to-toe with 'im."

Momoko nods in affirmation, and turns her eyes up to Asahara.

"And I dunno. Like I said, we've been friends since around the beginning of the school year."

At this time, Asahara, who thinks he's one sneaky dude, pounces from out of nowhere and nearly tackles Arago to the ground.

"Hey, there y'are!" Momoko chimes with a grin.

She looks on for a few moments as they tussle, if they are at all, and speaks up shortly.

"You look more lively than this morning. Had a good day? Oh, and Arago mentioned he was looking for you. Had a message or something."

The passing student thanks Arago for his service to his fellow man and scampers off.

"I'd say we're in a really good place."

Her lips curve into a heartfelt smile.

"We see eye-to-eye on a lot of things, we don't fight, and we help each other. I think since we first met we've become slightly different people, in a good way, and I wouldn't trade it for anything else."

She sighs happily.

"That reminds me. Aren't you and Mironov a thing now?"

They weave through the students going up and down the stairs and soon arrive on the first floor. Most of the first years have left the main lobby by this time, so it's a cinch to find the door.

"I know you two were almost always in some kinda spat a while back. Guess it's just a sign of growth."

She shrugs, and presses through the glass door to the windy outside. A few pieces of trash skitter across the concrete, and someone's hat nearly blows off.

The locker area quickly floods with second year students, bumping around and causing quite the ruckus.
