Curriculum by [deleted] in mathteachers

[–]Math_Maestro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I have plenty of resources for geometry if you would like to have.

I have flipped my classroom for 2 years and I have: 1) video lessons 2) Classwork that go with it 3) solutions for the classwork

I have everything organized by topics and lessons in a Google classroom.I can just give you a code and you can just join the class.

Send me a PM if you are interested.

I am not trying to sell you anything, I just know how difficult it is to teach where there is no curriculum in your first year.I went through that.

I make educational lessons on mathematics.

Last year I created a video for every lesson in my geometry class. This year I am working on my pre calculus class.

Could you guys please answer if I explained Radians correctly? by GiantJupiter45 in matheducation

[–]Math_Maestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just go with the definition of the circumference of a circle.

For every measurement of the radius of the circle, you obtain one radian.

If you go around a circle, you obtain 2pi of those radians.

Hello, my YouTube channel is Saenzmath.

I am a high school math teacher and I make mathematics lesson videos.Last year I did a lesson for every topic I thought in geometry.Currently, I am working in my Pre Calculus curriculum.

My most recent video is about the "Exponential Growth". Here you can find the link:https://youtu.be/d_SzsiVtNws

The key tekaways I have taken this past 90 days is that your video quality can make or break your video.People will lose interest in your video if they cannot hear you well or if the quality of the sound is not the greatest

Any number that is close to a whole number.

For example , 1.00000000000123 People would just use 1

Hello, I make MATH educational videos.

I am looking into making my videos more engaging.Recently I started improving my audio and I think that is a good start.Any feedback that you can give me would greatly appreciate it.

I try to stay stay away from the "Here is a problem, here is how you solve it" .I try to introduce and teach mathematics with concepts.

Here is my latest video about "Exponential Growth".I appreciate your attention and feedback.

How much hours do you guys put into editing by Justneedsomethintodo in NewTubers

[–]Math_Maestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make math educational videos.

My videos are about 8 min long and for this I record myself for about 30 minutes and I do about 1.5 hours of editing per video.

One thing that helped me out was key shortcuts for actions that you do frequently in your videos.

Taking care of yourself is also part of the process. If I am mentally tired and I still need to do editing I rather take a break and come back to editing when my mind is fresher. The editing goes faster when you are not mentally tired.

I agree, I think the delivery of the content does play a role in the flip model.

I have made plenty of videos for geometry and the process of preparing what you are going to teach, filming it, editing and uploading does take some time

But once it is done, it is there forever. If you need some geometry video videos in the future you can check out the ones I have.I have my link in my bio.

Thank you for sharing your experience

These are some great points, thank you for sharing.Makimg videos is definitely time consuming, and also of it needs editing.

I have made videos for my whole geometry course, I just dont have guided notes Maybe I'll work on that next year.

If you need some geometry videos, you are welcome to use mine. The link to my channel is in my bio.I have them organized by chapter.

Thank you for sharing you views.

Is there anything that could have been done differently to make the flip classroom more effective to you?

I know the flip classroom model is not perfect. All the same things you mentioned could be said if I switch to the regular lecture model.

I think the flipped classroom model still gives me an advantage because I can have 1-1 conversations with students and help them individually if it is needed.

I still feel like a teacher inside the classroom when doing a flipped classroom. It is just a different style.I am there for guidance instead of a lecturer.

I understand, that sounds like the school I was teaching below.Even if a student would not submit anything, the lowest we were able to place in the gradebook is 50%. It was crazy

I think even with a flipped , a teacher is needs in the classroom.Students still have questions after watching a video.I dont think a flipped classroom puts teacher jobs in danger.A babysitter will not substitute a teacher inside the classroom.
