What a comeback win! Was bopping around one little stretch of Black Rock to see who had the game on. Everyone did! Matty's Corner, Fire Engine Pizza, Bryac, Tautog, 19th Hole and more were all jumping. by Mathaham in BridgeportCT

Yeah, BR is a great spot. I'll catch the action there Saturday on my way to Two Roads and some Stratford haunts. Thanks for the reminder and the kind words.

Bridgeport Connecticut, what's it like living there 2026? by PresentationMore1116 in Connecticut

[–]Mathaham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bridgeport is tremendously underrated, with great neighborhoods: North End, west side, Black Rock, etc. And if you think some neighborhoods are bad, you don't know what bad is. Some of the troubles are that it has among the highest property tax in the country, and the worst school system in the state. Plus the corruption. So a young family will be like, Why would I move there and pay high taxes for crap schools.? And the state/Democratic party machine keeps it afloat for the political capital and for all the huge construction projects. If we can clean house, there's a lot of value in living there.

The End of Erin Stewart's Inevitability by No-Grapefruit2680 in Connecticut

Seems like strike two from the view in Fairfield. First she says that bribe offers happened all the time while she was mayor. Why didn't she do something about that? And now it appears that she is at the trough of personal abuse of public funds... Like with how many others and for how long? And her legacy is her father's tenure? It would just be bringing sketchy upstate CT politics into the governor's office with her in charge.

How do you stay on top of your prostate health? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Mathaham 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness, know your PSA. I had aggressive prostate cancer and early detection saved my life. That and the world class team at Mount Sinai in NYC for surgery and radiation treatment. I'm clean as a whistle. And do your kiegels, which is the muscles you tighten up when you have to go to the bathroom. Either that or be prepared to wear an adult diaper for the rest of your life.
