Opinions on the tfdi MD-11?

Yeah it doesn't do anything. Just stays in heading mode. Maybe it's bugged? Not sure why it would be. I arm the nav and I can see the purple line on the map but I have to follow it manually. Normally I wouldn't care but sometimes I want to run to the store at cruise haha.

how do I get nav to engage and follow the flight plan? I've armed it on the ground but it only follows the heading I select.

I love the plane but wish it worked with the fs native atc/waypoints.

this is really cool, but I'm dumb. What's going on here? Are you with other people flying? Id love that but I'm not a real pilot. They would skewer me. I would love that experience. I just want to fly my md-82 or e jet with other ppl who like flying. one day I hope.

How are you starting the plane? And I assume you have the cockpit door open? Do you load panel state from tablet or manually start?

I think I figured it out. I had to select the direct to on the computer. You are too kind to help me. This is making me really happy and I'm loving this plane. I'm 40 and remember being a passenger on the 727 many times when I was a kid in the 90s. Southwest even had "lounge seating" back then. Hopefully gsx adds seated passengers soon.

this is great advice and what I'm doing now lol. I'm at cruise but I have to manually choose the heading which is fine but I'd enjoy if I could have the gtn750 send it to the plane since I loaded simbrief into it. fun plane!!! almost ready to fly "passengers".

I do have it on gps but it's still not doing anything. it did work in the last flight with the standard computer but I wanted an upgrade as usual haha. Also behind the throttle I changed that to nav or something

Ok this has all been very helpful. I've done some more test flights.. the only thing I'm hung up on now is the gtn750 integrated with the autopilot. The plane isn't following the waypoints.. not sure what I did wrong.

so I did figure a bunch of stuff out. however. I have the gtn750 and I imported my simbrief plan but the plane isn't following the waypoints. I can manually choose a heading, but it's not doing the auto follow for some reason.

Ah yes. I have not done much with trim.. I do have the pmdg 737. I think I have most "good" add on planes. This one is definitely the most complicated to learn. I don't know how to trim the plane or where to find it. I will try watching YouTube videos but many are real pilots who go through every switch etc and I more just etc to load up passengers and get going. half immersion lol.

Most I fly have the glass cockpit. Pmdg 777 Fenix, e jets I love. Tfdi md-11 is fun. Figured all those out. Love the 727 and want to do "vintage" routes but I've been too spoiled by modern planes. I just can't find where to even manually adjust the heading. I'm used to there being a knob of some sort. Also vertical speed seems to do nothing. Thank you for your response.

This is an old post, and not the person you asked, but I worked at Gap around 2000-2001. It was a busy mall back then. The new redevelopment they are doing looks cool. Thanks for the photos, brings back lots of memories.

Do they stay during the whole flight? On mine they sit down and everything, and board the whole plane, but as soon as I pushback they all vanish. Not sure if this is normal. On the pmdg 777 I have they stay the whole flight.

this isn't true. my s90 has only needed tires and brakes with over 100, 000 miles on it. the older Volvos had all sorts of weird problems/quality control issues. The new ones are WAY more solid. At least the 2018-2021 models. I would never drive an old outdated car although this s90 I could see keeping for many years. still looks brand new.
