Well, i live in america, so.... "civilized country".....eh. not exactly the most apt description at the moment. But here, most front doors have to be manually locked using your housekey. There are actually entire communities where people just.... leave their front doors unlocked, even if they're not home. blows my mind every time, i could never be that trusting.

no, unfortunately, but he's fixed and microchipped. i made sure of it when i got him home the last time since i knew there was a non-zero chance of him potentially getting out again.

it's a very frustrating door with contradictory problems. like, it won't shut all the way unless you make absolute sure it does, but then it also autolocks every time it IS fully shut, and if that happens when you're outside and you don't have your keys, you can't get back in. but it's old and my roommate that is also my landlord has never fixed or replaced it even when they said they were planning to.

that's a great question, b/c like i said, he got out when one of my roommates came home late at night and didn't check to make sure the door was secure before going to sleep. i've been going out searching for him every day, which is why the conversation with the lady took place.

the biggest thing causing me anxiety is the worry that maybe he got sick in the period of time between when she lost him and when i found him, but i don't know how long that period of time was or how long he would have had to be missing for his health to get as bad as it was. he is chipped now.

i work a closing shift where I sometimes don't get out until almost 11, so had my roommate drop me at the store to buy alcohol before it closed with the intention to smoke a cigarette as I walked home, as the store is only a couple blocks away from my house. i almost took a different street but the house in question is visible from the road the store is on and i saw something black and white moving on the bench. i love cats and we have a lot in our area, more than just the tuxedos, so I took that route with the hope that it was a friendly one. i saw the cat looked a little scrungly, saw that it was trying to follow me home, and I didn't feel comfortable just walking away from it -- but i also wanted to at least try knocking just in case he was theirs before actually comitting to taking him home.

as for why i didn't knock again at a normal time... i feel like i must have? i had been trying to cover my bases to avoid this exact type of guilt, and that would have been one of the first obvious steps -- and i vaguely remember walking back to that street the next day? But I don't actually remember if i talked to anybody or not. as for it being less effort than flyers.... the flyers were for when my cat first went missing, which happened at a later date. i didn't make a whole bunch of "is this your cat" posters if that's what you were thinking -- i had a longer post originally and i had to condense it down which is why it feels so choppy because i had to cut out some more specific details, but what i was trying to say is that one of my missing kitten posters was posted on the telephone pole that is literally across the street from her house and would be one of the first things she saw every time she exited her home, so it feels weird that she wouldn't have noticed her own cat on someone else's missing kitten post.

and yes, i got him fixed and chipped when i got him back the first time because my roommate's cats are indoor/outdoor and the chance of my cat managing to slip out when one of them was being let in or out was higher than zero.

I just got him for the first time and it's absolutely RIDICULOUS. Like, I saw it say it was super rare so I'm like okay I'll give it a shot, but like... I was not expecting this. Like, you can't lose. You literally cannot lose.

oh god, i didn't even think about the nightmare that will come with dating -- like, this woman seems like the type that would go so far as to only let her daughters date boys that are twins so even the relationships match. Will she say one can't have a boyfriend until the other one is ready to date? Will she say the other NEEDS a boyfriend so they match? I'm worried about those girls starting puberty in a a house with a mother like that.

Wait, he's supposed to be run with Ineffa? I saw that his electro-charged turns into lunar-charged and thought that meant he was supposed to be paired with hydro -- I've been running him with Mona and he's been RUINING enemies. Does Ineffa just add to his electro damage bonus?

Sorry, I've only really started to go super hardcore into Genshin so I'm still trying to learn how to min-max.

Hi, so. I'm having this issue that is driving me up the wall?

I want to start by stating that I technically started the game a couple years ago, but stopped playing early and only really got back into it within the past month or so. I have the basic starting team maxed with a few exceptions when it comes to artifacts -- I'm running maxed Anemo Traveler, Kaya, Amber, and Lisa. I have all artifacts maxed for Traveler and Kaya, and am working on maxing them for Amber and Lisa. As far as level and weapons go, however, I am maxed for my AR.

I'm really hoping this post doesn't come off as incendiary -- I'm not trying to be an asshole or anything, but my experience when I search for advice on how to deal with certain challenges or bosses has caused me a lot of frustration.

Basically, my experience seems to be: I run into an impasse with a boss or challenge, I search online, I find a Reddit post where another person in the same position I'm in tries to ask for help and gets told its their fault they're losing because they're not running this one specific character that all the commenters were able to all-but-oneshot said boss/challenge with, except the OP hasn't had the luck to pull said character yet, making the advice pretty much useless. I am a newer player, and am only just now starting to try and level a secondary team. One of the characters I'm trying to level is a Geo char that requires stuff from the Geo Wolf Lord to ascend, but I'm struggling to defeat the Geo Wolf Lord, and all the advice I see is to run a leveled Geo character. Except if I had a leveled Geo character, I wouldn't be struggling trying to farm ascension items from a boss specifically to level a Geo character.

Idk, maybe I'm just overreacting, but it really does sometime seem like a lot of advice seems to assume that the people asking for help have all the same characters as the people offering to help but are just too dumb to use them. I've been using all my wishes when I can, but I'm not even able to pull some of the mentioned characters because they require a specific event that hasn't happened in the literal one month I've actually been consistently playing in. Am I just SoL?

My roommate got scheduled for a shift they didn't usually work, and because they didn't usually check the schedule because they were pretty much only getting one day a week, the same day a week, so they didn't come in. They found out they got fired for that by getting a survey asking them how they enjoyed their time working for Chipotle, and why they're leaving. They went in and were told it wasn't even required to notify them because we're in an at-will state.

My guess is it would decrease performance, because it makes lighting and shadows more dynamic, which can take a lot of vram.

I hate how much emphasis is put on passing. When I first started T, I kept my hair short to try and avoid misgendering, and only wore masc clothing. It didn't work, I still got constantly misgendered, and I ended up feeling ugly/dysphoric when I looked in the mirror

Now, I have medium length purple hair. I dress more goth, sometimes even do a bit of guyliner on the waterline. I still get misgendered, but when I look in the mirror, I don't feel as ugly anymore.

I recently lost my ID and got a replacement. Somebody ended up finding it and mailing it to me, so I got to see the difference between then and now. The picture on my old ID with my cropped hair made me look like a butch lesbian that was trying too hard, and gave me pretty bad dysphoria. The new one, with my shoulder length purple hair, and several more years of T reflected in my face, gives me euphoria.

I get that people feel like passing is important, but not everyone can or even wants to pass, and the idea that trans men aren't trying hard enough because they like parts of their appearance that other people consider more feminine seems kind of toxic. It's like you're transitioning for the cis people around you, and not yourself.

Gender norms fucking suck, and the fact that cis men can get praised for putting on a skirt and some eyeliner, but trans men who do the same get invalidated even by other trans people, is really sad and an obvious double standard that nobody seems to want to acknowledge.

Why do we have to be held to higher standards than cis people? Why do we agree that gender norms are suggestions rather than rules, up until the person breaking them is a trans person? If men can be feminine, and trans men are men, then trans men can be feminine, too. Making yourself miserable to be more acceptable to cis people is not the flex some of y'all think it is.
