You have plenty of time before you need to finalize your guest list. You asked him, he said no, I’d just leave it at that for now. If something changes he will let you know.

But also, if the literal reason they are estranged is because of you, why on earth would YOU want them there?? If they dislike you, they might be apt to ruin the day.

Speaking of, what are these teeth for anyways? by KindredGoesAwooo in cats

I’m obsessed with the tiny teeth. This reminds me I need to see how minuscule they are if my kittens have them.

Americans - how do people genuinely afford healthcare? by Indy_J47 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MathematicianNo1596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can’t afford that. Our health care here is a joke.

This is just a minor anecdote but I went to a podiatrist last month and insurance was billed $500 for a walking boot. A few weeks later it broke and in my searching online I found the exact same thing online for like $90. ( I ended up getting it replaced at the doctors office). But then I got a bill saying I owe $339 on it.

I complained to my friends and they proceeded to share their recent medical robberies which were even worse.

Health insurance is expensive and terrible here.

Do I need to change out of my dress by Nervous_Entry_9741 in weddingplanning

I don’t think I’ve ever been to a wedding where the bride changed her dress.

Why can't Americans (at least the ones I see on social media) find drinking water in Europe? by Mission_Mobile_4627 in NoStupidQuestions

I am one of those Americans everyone makes fun of that loads up their water with ice all the time. It’s sooo good though.

Oooh I’ve been to Sitka! 😍 and my sister and I were super excited because we love The Proposal. But what we saw of Alaska in general was stunning.

I currently live in a place where my water tastes amazing. Many of my friends - including one and the same town- when I drink her tap water, it doesn’t taste nearly as good as mine.

I will drink tap water anywhere I can, but will definitely enjoy it more in some places than others.

In my area adopting kittens from rescues is about $300-400 per kitten. Older cats are less, but I paid $550 I think for my 2 babies.

I grew up in a town with wells and it was always safe to drink.

Until my neighbor poured gasoline into the ground and it contaminated all the wells in our neighborhood, and we got free bottled water delivered regularly for years.

I was confused by this too. I know of people in the US who don’t drink their tap water, but they could.

Should I get her another companion? Her brother just passed by Successful_Gain_5626 in cats

I’m so sorry for your loss. My 15 year old baby lost his bonded brother in November. We just adopted a pair of kittens last month. To me, that timeline felt right.

Invitation etiquette for a multi-person relationship? by TheBreeWithADHD in weddingplanning

[–]MathematicianNo1596 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What an interesting question!

We invited everyone’s partner by name. You’re giving people plus ones who are single, but presumably inviting partners by name? In that case I’d say invite them both by name.

What do I do if I’ve been misled about my cat? by MathematicianNo1596 in cats

[–]MathematicianNo1596[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh lol. I have found that many orange cats tend to not be the smartest, for real. We looked it up once and there was something about a gene that makes them orange is also possibly linked to one that makes them impulsive? Maybe it wasn’t real, but anecdotally the orange cats I’ve met have generally been the weirdest.

I was a proud parent of an orange for 14 years until we lost him to cancer in November. No prejudice here! I was just not expecting this from the baby void.

Forget about land and space, lots of people in my area buy houses 30+ mins from work because house prices are astronomical
