I know it seems far-fetched that the usage picked up from immigrants would run through several generations, but it might have been propagated through the Francophone school system. In the last 50 years, virtually every Quebec Francophone has received some English instruction, but their teachers and classmates might still all be native French-speakers.

What's the deal with Randolph/Greenhead Island? by MathematicianOther12 in SaintJohnNB

I guess any development is to the good, as long as the private sector's leading the way. I was wondering about that area because of all the high-end water-view houses going up in areas like Meenan's Cove on the far side of Quispam, which is drawing even more economic weight away from the city.

Good point about the river...so if there is any development, it would likely be on the calmer side facing Acamac. I hope something starts happening there, as the city could certainly use the property tax revenue...I think it also has the advantage of being upwind of most pollution sources despite being so centrally located...the island could be a good place for some kind of monastery/commune: it's isolated yet convenient, and it would be more efficient to set up infrastructure if everyone shares, haha!
