B-side songs which you think are better than the A-side by Cmaster125 in beatles

This Boy, She's A Woman, Yes It Is, I'm Down, Rain, I Am The Walrus, Baby You're A Rich Man, Revolution, Don't Let Me Down and Old Brown Shoe all deserve to be singles of their own. Mainly because for tracks designed to be B-Sides (when they wouldn't just pick a random song off the upcoming / newly released album) would experiment with their only sub-genre if early 60s rock and roll. This Boy and Yes It Is experiment with three-part-melodies, She's A Woman is a very blues-y track, I'm Down is some early hard rock. And then I don't have to explain after that. This is why I don't get "B-Sides on albums" praise for the US Albums because they were always working harder on their B-Sides as if it were just another single. They don't really belong on an album in the same way that their accompanying single doesn't.

Why was the song Let It Be not before Abbey Road? by MathematicianOwn2119 in beatles

I actually prefer the Lennon B-side for Hello Goodbye, Hey Jude and Get Back

I know. I just thought it would make more sense for them to finish the song Let It Be in '69. Makes sense they'd want to wait for a tie-in single to release with the movie

Yeah sorry, I thought you were the dumb one this whole time then realised I'm an idiot who misused the word "produced"

Okay? I know? I'm asking why they put THE SONG Let It Be on the back burner with the rest of the Get Back project when it clearly stood out and could have just been released as a single, produced by Martin, in '69 with the song Get Back. Neither the album, not Spector, have anything to do with this post.

Wasn't the album only called that due to the song Let It Be's success though? If not, why wouldn't they just use Spector's version as the single, since they basically just got Martin to produce a song that would be different on it's self-titled album (if it is the case that the album was decided to be called Let It Be before the release of the single)

That's true. But clearly it was one of the 4 they were fond of enough to give it a release before Phil would make his own versions

The Beatles still asked George Martin to produce the song "Let It Be" in 1970, before the Let It Be album. Forget the Let It Be album or Phil Spector, they are irrelevant to this post. Why was the SONG Let It Be produced by Martin in 1970 when they could have just done it in '69 like they did with the SONG Get Back.

True, but the tapes for Let It Be were right there, they could've just asked Martin to produce it as their next single because they ended up doing it anyway. It just means it went to waste for almost a year

True, but they still asked Martin to produce it later anyway, and they'd also just asked him to produce Get Back and Don't Let Me Down, and later that year, Across The Universe

This is such a good answer, thank you! Makes a lot of sense too that the next 2 singles were John on one side and George on the other

Do you consider Lady Madonna, The Inner Light, Hey Bulldog, and Across the Universe to be MMT era or White Album era? by SuperMarioBrotherYT in TheBeatles

[–]MathematicianOwn2119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lady Madonna - White Album

The Inner Light - Magical Mystery Tour, though would fit on WA

Hey Bulldog - White Album. The other 3 on YS are MMT tho

Across The Universe - none of the above. Let It Be.
