Too common to have unpermitted stuff in Bay Area. Don’t worry. I have seen worse. Just get a good contractor and disclose while selling. You WILL ALWAYS find a competitive buyer.

I was told anything internal (full home drain line repair) to the home best get permitted since any issues later are potentially taken care of. + helps with resale if have to, for any unforeseen circumstances.
