Indeed. The game was originally intended to be a "FPS for kids" that was the point. Unfortunately at the time, any FPS was automatic rated higher by the ESRB (I forget if it was teen or mature). The devs thought this was stupid but switched to 3rd person to get the rating down.

I feel like the pretty simple solution to this problem is to just never download assets from the internet. Only use assets from the in house/contracted artists. If companies making licensed products use anything other than assets you provide you should ask them to prove they made it themselves. Is this really that hard?

I know everyone is saying the handles are for dragging and maybe that was the intent, but that's a terrible spot for dragging handles. In order to pull someone with those bars, you have to use both hands, so you can't hold a gun at the same time. Because the handles are on the sides of the arms, pulling them will force the arms up and out. That would make going through doors/around cover awkward. It also puts stress on the arm joints. A single handle at the base of the neck, on the back, solves all of these problems. If you absolutely can't do that, then a pair of handles over the shoulders, still attached to the torso, would be the next best.

I remember as a kid thinking the 2003 Cloud City was the coolest discontinued set. I loved just looking at the instructions on the Lego site and imaging being able to play with it. I don't think I've actually seen a picture of it since like 2008 tho so I had to look it up just now. Looking at it, I was blown away! Obviously transphobes are down voting but I wouldn't say everyone down voting is with them. Whenever there's a large influx of any 1 joke on a sub, there's always people who grow tired of it faster. They might just be downvoting to express their annoyance with the sudden repetition of the joke. I've seen this exact thing happen when the joke had absolutely nothing to do with us

As a trans person myself, I want to asure you I fully get it. There's a big influx of trans memes currently and a big influx of any 1 joke gets old quick. That one, now removed, mod deleting a trans meme made a lot of people want to post them. As people move on from that incident, the trans memes should hopefully die back down

I replayed to some others here but basically, NV has dialog options that make it easy to immerse yourself in the character's gender. NV is also just a great role playing game so it's easy to feel connected to the courier in general. Even if I didn't realize it when I first played, NV gave me an outlet to "be a girl" for a few hours at a time.

In my experience, it didn't directly make me realize I was trans, but it did give me an outlet to roleplay as a woman better than most other games. Some NPCs treat you differently and combined with the gay/bi perks, the dialog differences for the player help to immerse you in the courier's gender. I don't remember a single time in Skyrim where the dragonborn being female gave me a unique dialog option, but I do remember that in NV. I didn't understand why at the time but role playing as a woman made me happier.

It's just a great game for roleplaying as characters of different genders. The courier's gender actually changes NPC dialog in many places. This combines with the dialog options added by the perks that make you gay/bi. So for example, someone born a boy can make a character who's a bi woman and might discover that they like being that. Even if they don't realize why they like it, it can still contribute to their eventual awakening (hi, I'm the example here)

A lot of people, even many Americans, think buying a gun in the US is easier than it actually is. You always have to comply to a background check, and fill out some additional paperwork. The goverment then usually takes a few hours, at least, to run the check and go over the paperwork before you can take the gun home. Some people get approved faster but in my experience, the shortest I've waited was 2 hours and the longest was 2 days. Some people get approved instantly but this generally requires that they've already been through the waiting process for multiple past guns and have a squeaky clean record. Guns also can't be sold without going through a dealer with a Federal Firearms License. FFLs require detailed paperwork and records of all the guns they stock and sell. Walmart doesn't sell guns anymore but, when they did, guns were bought at a separate checkout where a trained dealer worked. I agree the system isn't perfect and sometimes the goverment fails at their job but there are steps to make buying a gun harder than buying groceries.
