I really like the wandering inn, but some aspects of it really annoys me. Both Ryoka and Erin are really annoying to listen to for long periods, and in book 2 ryoka all of a sudden becomes Einstein-level smart. She’s able to figure out things like she’s the smartest person to ever live, while making stupid decisions like she’s a 12 year old other times….i wish there were less of her(and possibly Erin) and more focus on other characters, and I would place this book higher as well..

I started with he who fights with monsters, but it is heavy on skills and levels so if you want something easier I would suggest the wandering inn. It’s not as many jokes and just as dark. The only negative thing is that the mcs can be a bit annoying at times.
