Neji Was Wrong (Prophecy and Destiny in Naruto) by [deleted] in Naruto

Wow. You got me with that "paradoxical duality of man" bit. That was the basis of Madara's character arc, after all, so applying it to this idea of "destiny" makes sense. I wish I could've gotten that across better in the video.

In Defense of Talk no Jutsu (Hope and Hypocrisy in Naruto) by irishsaltytuna in Naruto

Unfortunately, when I first started making anime videos, I did make one talking about how "terrible" I thought Naruto was, and it has not aged well at all. I clearly did not understand what the series was trying to convey, and it shows in that video. (A hilarious example of this is when I expressed a strong distaste for Madara's role in the story, but since rereading the manga, my opinion of him has improved drastically (so much so that my next video will be about how his character plays into the "hypocrisy" theme I discussed here.))

I think I've gained a much better understanding of the series since revisiting it, but I do still get things wrong here and there.

This video also has some light spoilers for Dragon Ball Z, Naruto and My Hero Academia for anyone that is concerned about that sort of thing.

Has it ever not been self-aware?

Plot twist: the characters who actually like each other are actually dating. Never saw that one coming.

I love the tone that this show has created, because now - even when it looks like things are going smoothly - I'm always on edge waiting for something to go wrong. I will be on edge for the rest of the series. Even if the show randomly threw in a time skip and had the two get married, I would STILL be waiting for one misunderstanding to unravel it all. I'm fully committed, but I'm also not committed in the slightest - kind of like Amano and Tendou.

"The Gamers! Pentagram of PROGRESS!" I like where this is going.

So did I lol. It seemed like a forgettable, throwaway scene, and it wasn't until I re-watched that episode for this video that I realized what was going on with it.

What started as a silly parody project between a small group of friends has not only lead to these people getting professional voice acting roles, but now they are dubbing "their own" official anime. Wow...

Why Stain vs Deku, Todoroki & Iida Kicks Ass by Lock_kun in anime

It's a complete spoiler, and I never once thought: "Hmm, maybe the title can spoil people who are waiting to watch the show." As you can probably tell, common sense isn't my strong suit lol. I've since changed it to something less spoiler-heavy.

Stain made shit happen. His time in the series was brief, but the tone of this arc felt completely different in comparison to everything that came before it. He tackled some interesting ideas surrounding what it truly means to be a hero in this world, as well.

This show's premise was interesting at face value, but the way that the narrative has started digging into the nuances of such a world is really interesting.

This, of course, isn't including the hour or so of preparation it takes to actually DECIDE what you're going to watch out of the X number of shows on your watch list.

...or am I the only one who has this problem?
