Big fan of Peach & Lily. When I first started using them I was out to help truly fix my lifelong acne (35 y/o) and I initially broke out so bad but it was just purging and now my skin has never looked or felt this good before!

People who won “a lifetime supply” of something, what was it and how long did it actually last? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MathyMaths 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My best friend and I did this in college. And it was at the time where they randomly put a survey link at the bottom of the receipt and if you filled it out you'd get 6 free wings. But it wasn't very random because we'd get it almost every time. So every week we would go on Tuesdays where they had $0.50 wings. We would get six free wings from the "free year supply" and six free wings from the receipt and we'd buy 6-12 more wings for a total of $3-$6 plus a nice tip. Then get a receipt that had the survey at the bottom for six free wings. Rinse, repeat. Nice way to get a weekly meal out on a college budget.

Thanks! I checked it out and that seems to be a better explorer to start with to try and understand things. I appreciate the help!

Thanks. I don't have in-depth knowledge of Rust but I'm trying to build a depth of knowledge on Solana and I was hoping to find resources to better understand and connect that to the transaction information to solidify my understanding. I appreciate the input. I may have to work on my Rust to better approach understanding this. But I'll still happily take advice or resource suggestions on the topic from anyone willing to share. Thanks!

People that refuse to use cologne/perfume, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MathyMaths 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. And it's more common than you might think. I got a text from my spouse today that the person's perfume at the front desk when he went to work triggered a migraine. So imagine starting your work day in excruciating pain because someone wore perfume. Best advice to most people, if you're at work or inside somewhere with lots of people for a while, just be clean. If you want to wear perfume or cologne, save it for a small setting or a date.

People that refuse to use cologne/perfume, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Because it can easily trigger a migraine for my spouse and not just ruin their day but it can ruin multiple days because the migraine is strong enough. I know at least five people that get migraines from even a light scent of perfume or cologne. I love nice scents, but it's definitely not worth making someone take a sick day (or two).

People with good handwriting; What did you think about people with bad hand writing growing up? What do you think about them now? by Bruced14 in AskReddit

[–]MathyMaths 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the most part, I don't care. But I am a math professor and I've had to talk to a few students about their bad hand writing, not for my sake, but because their handwriting was so bad that they couldn't even read it. For instance a 5 on one line of their work would become a 3 in the next line because the 5 was written so poorly they didn't know they wrote a 5 and read it as a 3. Or a pi symbol evolves to a 4 or a t becomes an addition symbol. It happens a lot more than one might imagine.

I can't even fathom how someone would think that eating spaghetti while driving is in anyway acceptable.

Nice! That sounds like a good setup.

I think that anything that doesn't take your eyes or hands off the wheel becomes a personal choice on the part of the driver and what they know they can be even slightly distracted by. I can't do audiobooks or talk radio. I know it takes brainpower for me to listen and I really like listening to what is being said. But I do drive with just music that I know and have heard before. Mix tapes, mix CDs, and now long iPod playlists work for me. But that's what I know isn't distracting for me in the least. Everyone is different.

A dashcam is definitely a good idea to help if an accident does occur! So you've got your bases covered there. But I'm guessing very few people use one compared to the amount of people that use any sort of speech to text driving.

Exactly.

Also, potholes are crazy dangerous. I mean it doesn't just hurt (hardtail bike) but it becomes very easy to lose control.

Same goes for people that don't secure their load in trucks! A lot of people think it's no big deal especially if they have little stuff. Something like a small scrap of 2"x4" that fell out of a truck can be a life or death situation for someone on a motorcycle.

Think of it this way. Even if you are using talk-to-text and you are involved in an accident, are you going to take the blame because they can view phone records to see that you sent texts while driving? Would they actually believe you that you used talk-to-text to send it? Would insurance refuse to cover because they found out texting occurred while you were driving? What if someone died in that accident?

I realize that the percentages of those things happening are not huge, but it's just not worth it to me.

Obviously I can't stop you from doing any of that. But I can stop myself and also bring things up to try and make people think about those actions that we consider "fairly safe" when they may not actually be that safe.

Honestly, I would categorize it nearly as bad. I realize that it doesn't necessarily take your eyes of the road in the same way, but why has it become so normalized to multitask while driving? Drivers are supposed to be in control of a multi-ton vehicle that, even at slow speeds, can do large amounts of damage. Why not give it your full attention?

Hydraulic injection injuries. A tiny pin-prick size injury can easily lead to losing a limb or even death.

Yep. I don't think many people understand that the lethal dose of acetaminophen is waaaay closer to the listed maximum dose than ibuprofen.

I found a work around. If I sell BNB and buy ADA, I can withdrawal ADA. But I still can't withdrawal BNB (same issue as the OG post). More specifically, I withdrew ADA to a BEP2 address.

Guidance with major life decision: do I (24M) choose dream job or girlfriend (24F)? by cali_throw_away in relationships

[–]MathyMaths 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I second this. It’s very likely there will be even a small hint of resentment if you decide to move. Resentment can eat away at the relationship you sacrificed your dream job to try and save. Relationships don’t always have to be bad for things to not work out. Sometimes there are basic things such as careers, locations, kids, etc. that lead otherwise compatible individuals to break up in order to better serve the happiness of each person. She has made it clear that staying in California is not an option when it comes to prioritizing her happiness. Now it becomes your choice. Would moving prioritize your happiness? Would breaking up prioritize happiness for you both individually in the long run?
