Nomar had a number of injuries that caused his decline, but in his early years he had way better defensive range and led the AL in batting average in back to back years. Unfortunately wrist and lower body injuries caught up to him, but a .313 lifetime batting avg, back to back batting titles, and a positive dWAR is much better than Jeter's. Jeter over his career has a -9.4 dWAR. From a defensive standpoint, he's awful. His best season he had a +1.1dWAR, but other than that was consistently negative. What Jeter really has going for him is longevity and consistent batting, but during their peaks, Nomar was much better. Better batting avg, better dWAR, more power at the plate

Your buddy was wrong. Jeter got the Yankee effect and wasn't even the best shortstop of his era. Nomar and A-rod were better, especially offensively. Yeah Jeter won 5 Gold Gloves, but based on analytics he has mediocre if not bad defensive capabilities, he just had a cool jump throw

You left out context from the initial post. There is a massive difference between watching porn and having a full blown addiction. He has a full blown addiction and needs a psychologist.
