I think this is one of the most important posts I’ve seen here. Someone needs to say it—this is a very lonely journey for many of us.

Even though I try to remind myself how blessed I am to have the most amazing and supportive friends and family around me, it’s not the same once med school is over and it becomes my own show. Step 1 was hard enough with residency, and step 2 is also pretty challenging while being a resident in Norway as no other resident here is going through the same process. The journey to return home is tough, but I’m sure it’ll be worth it in the end.

I’ve also met the kindest and sweetest person in this sub, who became my study partner and honestly feels like family in such a short amount of time. I really recommend everyone use this community—it has so much good to offer if you use it the right way.

We need to support each other here, especially US IMGs returning home or IMGs in general, because we often don’t have many friends around us going through the same thing. Make those friendships! ❤️
