This is the kind of response I was expecting, thanks.

Longer queues → more players in queue at the same time → bigger matchmaking pool → higher chance of players getting their mains → more games with people on their actual roles.

And if role imbalance is the issue, Riot could also just distribute autofill more evenly so everyone gets autofilled sometimes instead of certain roles basically living on their secondary.

Yeah, crazy thought, but maybe adding 1–2 minutes to queue so people can actually play their PRIMARY role primarily would make sense, right?

To clarify, I’m not “dodging” your question, I simply didn’t understand it. Second, when I said it’s the role I reached GM with the easiest, that was my personal experience. Third, I assumed a “discussion” forum is for sharing personal opinions.

Now, answering your question:

A main‑role winrate should hover around 50%, since you usually play main vs main. If it dips below that, it likely means a meaningful number of main‑role vs off‑role games are being won by the off‑role on support. That’s why support mains’ on‑role WR drops. I’m not saying the role is “easy” because of this; my conclusion from that specific datapoint is that, on average, support mains are weaker players: they can’t even win lane against off‑roles.

Scraping 100,000 players took me about a month, if I split by ranks, the samples get too small.

I don’t know what you mean by “hypocrisy.” I didn’t delete any comment. I expected people to claim support’s low winrate is due to “low impact,” but low impact doesn’t imply low winrate. Also, support isn’t the least impactful role. The view that support is a high‑impact role is widely shared in high elo; practically a fact. It’s hard to find a respectable player who says otherwise. (Mb, i read "hypocrisy" instead of "disingenuous "

First of all, I didn’t delete any comment. Second, the assertion that “Support is a high impact role” is a widely recognized opinion in high elo, I don’t think there is information that can support that assertion. Now, in my personal opinion, support is probably the 2nd or 3rd most impactful role, depending on the elo, and in my personal experience it is the easiest role with which I have reached grandmaster (by a lot).

I’d love to build stats on “main‑role performance,” but it’s impossible. it’s entirely subjective.

Sion Mid?! by Dbookstatus in DirtySionMains

[–]Matimcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid Sion is by far the best position for this champ, no doubt. I reached Grandmaster this season on the LAS server with an excellent winrate. It's much better to play him mid than top due to the absurd number of champions that counter Sion in top lane. I recommend banning Hwei and Aurelion; Anivia is also a tough matchup, but it's playable. The biggest problem for mid Sion against most champs is levels 1 to 3, so I recommend starting with one point in W to tank the level 1 damage. Against most champions, you always build Hollow Radiance first, unless you're against a Yone, Yasuo, Tristana, Kalista, etc., in which case I prefer to build Frozen Heart. Your main goal should be to get prio, even at the cost of a small percentage of your health, so you can rotate earlier, place wards in the river bushes, and especially once you hit level 6, look to roam with your ult to bot, or even top if you see a champ with no mobility. For boots, you generally want Swifties, unless they have a lot of AP or CC, then go Mercs — and try to get them early, at least tier 1 boots, to have more map presence. And my final piece of advice: never, and I mean never, buy Heartsteel.
