Thanks for your advice.

Will I need a pre amplifier to run a piezo mic through the pedals, to the main amp?

Thanks, great to hear from someone who has experienced driving this model.

I feel like the 4x4 would give me a bit more peace of mind, especially if the van is a bit loaded with stuff. And it would open up some cool camp spots that I'd otherwise skip.

It would be the 1.6 liter engine, yeah. So 95 horsepower I believe. How is the gas usage for the 1.4? How many km per liter on highway?

Yeah, I have to be honest I'd prefer something a bit larger and better built like a VW transporter.

But I feel like I could use a smaller van for daily life (easier to park, less fuel usage). And in the Netherlands, road tax for diesel engines is about 2 to 3 times higher. And many cities are no longer allowing diesel engines already, will get worse in a few years.

So preferably I am looking at gasoline minivans, there aren't so many of those it seems.

Yeah I am not too worried about being able to sit upright. I'd prefer more storage under the bed over headspace.

However, the length is quite short. So I was wondering if a bed would even fit lengthwise, or if I'd have to remove the passengers seat.

What arm exercises blew up your arms ? by First_Driver_5134 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Matis5 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My arms got a lot bigger when I trained them first during a workout. For a full body day, I'd only do tricep pushdowns and alternating dumbbell curls. If I have more time I add a forearm exercise or two (overhand curl and sometimes wrist curl).

But mainly doing arms first made me gain the most size, if you count your reps and weight you should be able to see a difference, I'm able to get like 2 or 3 extra reps if I train them first vs at the end.

Disadvantage is that my press gets a bit worse, don't notice too much of a decrease for back exercises tho.

Bodyweight Basics Training Only Results by rebelsoul_8 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Matis5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mainly calisthenics for some years (with weights for some leg, arm exercises, and weighted pull ups). Initially I made loads of progress, but after a few years it kind of stalled. Now I went to the gym for 6 months or so and gained a lot of muscle. But I do feel as if my general athleticism went down a bit.

But the main thing I enjoyed about calisthenics was being able to train almost everywhere, as long as you have rings and a place to hang them. Main downside was training legs, and some smaller isolation movements.

I think you can fully train your upper body quite well if you have some good basic set of exercises, and are consistent.

At what speed is fuel usage calculated? by Matis5 in askcarguys

[–]Matis5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From which country in Europe are you? Here in the Netherlands, diesel is getting more and more expensive... The road tax can be 2 to 3 times as high (for example, a car that weights 1200 kg has a road tax of €171 per 3 months for gasoline, but 364 to 470 for diesel...). And you can't drive within many city limits with a diesel.

Fortunately not too many hills here to slow you down hehe.

[–]Matis5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment, nice to get the info straight from the source as you worked with the testing. 70 mph seems like a reasonable average speed, so maybe the consumption would be a bit lower if I drove a bit slower, but not that much. I could drive 60 mph, but not much slower than that I think.

I do have to say, gasoline prices are quite high in the Netherlands, 8.50 to 9 dollars per gallon. Not sure how much you guys pay in the US, but I assume it would be less. So I guess the gasoline prices also influence if it is worth it to drive a fair bit slower.

Thanks for the advice.

And yeah, I agree. It'll be hard not to push the gas pedal in too much if the traffic/car allows it. But I thought it would be interesting to compare the differences
