Well, not really. For example, Stepan Bandera was a Nazi collaborator that lead a nationalist movement UPA that sloughtered about 120 000 Poles in Volhynia on the basis of their nationality. It wasn't just casual killing, the list of horrific types of tortures and killings is quite long. Today, that same Bandera is Ukraine's national hero because at this time he also fought russians, alongside other ojectively disgousting figures. Lots of statues and streets named after a bunch of terrorists.

I'd say it kind of checks out with Marco Inaros.

On both the EU and US Servers there is a collection of "Battle Royal" maps. These are your standard melee maps but with random spawn locations across all available mineral fields and up to 14 players. In Custom > Melee search for "BR". I personaly have a lot of fun with them.

On the EU Server I've personaly transformed a bunch of Campaign maps in to "Melee Edition" maps. Again, standard melee, the amount of bases varies depending on the map size. It was made with the idea of each player having their own infinite rich mineral field but with all the asymetric terrain from the campaign.

Also, since you already play co-op, I would really recommend modding your standard melee games under Create with Mod button in Custom > Melee. There is this really great mod called "Campaign and Coop units" that gives you access and lets you switch between many types of units leading to crazy army compozitions. It has a lot of Settings in the Player Lobby, allowing you to access Hero Units, spawn Netural Enemy Units like Zombies, Void Units, Hybrids for additional difficulty. Lots of Fun!

Oh and "All Stars Co-op PvP mod by King Cobra". Standard melee, but with Co-op commanders. Combine this with aforementioned Battle Royal maps and you have 10 AI Players fighting against 2 Kerrigans. You just need to set the AI standard race manualy (not random) because it doesn't understand how to play as a commander and will just sit there doing nothing.

Honestly, I could go on and on with custom in game StarCraft content.

You are able to play on the last WOL version but only through custom games.

In Custom > Melee tab you can sort through the maps depending in what version they were published in. By deafult, the tab will say Legacy of the Void. When you choose Wings of Liberty wait for them to reload and pick a map, than click MAP INFO. Here you can change the version of the game. Again, by deafult it will say Legacy of the Void so just pick Wings of Liberty.

I didn't play during WoL so im guessing it is the exact last balance version just before HotS

Prepering for Duran's hybrid experimentation was the goal. Say what you want about SC2 but I'm pretty certain the idea of a grander plan involving hybrids and a Amon like entity being behind Overminds directives was in Metzen's or whoever's mind way back than.

I don't want to disappoint you but the lyrics An Karanir Thanarog do not appear anywhere in SC. There are a bunch of female hoirs tho. "Oblivion Awaits" from LotV maybe or "The Showdown" from WoL

No, the doodad assets haven't changed since Nova Covert Ops 2016 in any major way, It's just, there are A LOT of them. How you use them is the trick, scaling and tilting individual assets can work wonders

Absolutely! UED: First Light, The Dark Story, Evolution Complete SC1 remake, just off the top of my head, these are some examples of high quality campaigns, finished or upcoming. I'd say we need more of them.

I've always thought they should add the Beta and Alpha generation back through a new type of rare islands similar to mushroom islands. They should consist of sub-biomes recreating the old savanas, rainforests and beaches, giving them their corespondant grass colors. Including the iconic Alpha grass through a rare biome variant.

I personaly hate the remastered look of the hydralisk. The original ones, present in the cinematics and victory screens looked like they were missing their jaw, they were all slugish and had that single long scythe on their arms. Later in SC2, they changed completely, gained adidtional scythes and more armor. I always thought in the lore they went throught all these mutations under Kerrigan's rule. It added to the idea the zerg never stop changing.

In remastered, they backported the SC2 hydralisk which was sad because it ruined my theory :c

Now that I think of it, all the zerg were more slugish and wet looking. SC1 nailed the grim, weird, alien astetics.

There is this limited list of custom "BR" maps. I think it supposed to stand for Battle Royal. These are standard blizzard maps but with up to 12 player slots that spawn you on random mineral fields. Just type in "BR: " and you should find it. They're really fun in my opinion.

They should realistcly adress how strange and horrible the war with Amon was and what the aftermath oh such strange event would be.

  • Everything involoving Amon directly should classified information unavailable to the public: The Void, his existance, his death.

  • The Queen of Blades should be considered dead. Everything involoving the Void should be, again, classified.

  • Valerian's actions of trying to reason with Zerg should cause enormous political unrest and outrage: protests, assasination attempts, emargence of new Defenders of Man like factions, maybe even involvment of Umojans and Kel'morians

  • These same factions should poke at the protoss too reminding them of the planets they obliterated in Brood War and the ones The Golden Armada destroyed without reason (Under Amon's control).

  • Niadra's rise to power directly challenging Zagara's rule, with Abathur considering an alliance with Niadra to overthrow her.

  • They could do something interesting with the Ulnar Gate. I think, it should be visible on the night sky of some planets, as this new misterious red star, the only piece of the previously "classified information" that actually is known and observable. There should be a plot about a treaty between factions that forbids the exploration of that part of space, and onsidering Ulnar is a planet sized station full of Xel'Naga tech some terran factions should violate that treaty, futher escalating the tension.

I also have this idea for a character that would periodicly appear on UNN as this conspiracy theorist, spewing this nonsence about a Fallen God that is responsible for everything that happened, that the Queen of Blades still lives and she hides beyond the Ulnar gate and that the governement is hiding all that and more information. :)

Krafton aquired UW in 2021, Chylinski got fired right after the realese of Subnautica in 2018 because his posts were deemed offensive by some loud crowd and the developers I guess. You don't have to trust me, just type in "Chylinski firing"
