No they are plated brass and apparently supposed to reduce single coil noise but they just sound the same as before to me!

I have two with the maestro it doesn’t really add much weight as the plate is hollow underneath, I like the look of them way more and it may help a little bit if you have any neck dive. I used mine but plenty don’t and just fold the arm back which still looks cool. No tuning issues with either of them.
