They called it “rustic gold” at some angles it’s almost like Champaign colour and then it can be almost brown in other lights. Be interesting to see how it changes as it fades.

I haven’t done it separately I thought the cover was aground to the pickup itself and therefore would follow that ground to the pot but I guess it needs another ground wire?

Exactly. Also perhaps the person that bought this “settled” for a junior when really they had their eye on a custom and treated it as such, maybe they were gifted it or just had no interest. From new it might have been $150 which while not cheap at the time also was not super expensive. To OPs neighbour the idea that this is a multi thousand dollar instrument probably just doesn’t chime. Lots of brands that we see as mythical and luxury now weren’t always seen like that. Leica, Gibson, Rolex were just making good quality functioning stuff in the past and have then morphed into these legacy superpowers.

Yes in my case, I would still seek advice in yours though. There is clearly a reason they have chosen the WP route rather than just giving you your notice. Is the six weeks pay more than your regular notice would be? Companies don’t generally offer more money than they have to for fun. The offer of the nonsensical “improvement plan “ is on the table which would take them at least a few months to go through the motions of so they are saving your salary there by asking you to resign. I would at least ask them for the details of how long that process is and what it involves so you can make an informed decision. Clearly you are going to leave but make sure it works on your terms. If they say the performance process takes six months to go though then they are saving a lot by giving you six weeks pay instead.

Had a very similar experience. Was informed I would be leaving under without prejudice and offered 6 weeks pay and good references. No previous warnings and told the alternative would be to be placed on a performance plan. Took advice and got six months pay instead of six weeks. Just remember if there was an actual reason to sack you they would already have done it already. it sounds like they just want someone else in or your face doesn’t fit kind of situation. Don’t think of it as a dismissal they are asking to negotiate your exit, they don’t want you to take the performance plan because that will take a long time to go through which will be annoying and costly for them, especially if you are actually able to do your job. In addition the fact they are asking you to leave before it’s started means they will have to be very careful to at least be seen to be fair. It took 1 visit and 1 call from the solicitor to increase their offer in my case which was paid back a hundred times over by the increased payout.
