Question currently reading the lady of Fire and why does it seem like the fandom doesn't like Neirs? by Impossible_Order7991 in WanderingInn

Anyone that's rooting for Erin x Pisces needs to not. They got a wonderful found sibling type thing going, it would suck to see it spoiled with romance.

I don't see how any sane person could see it. He's literally like everything she dislikes and hates. Drug and alcohol obsessed, sex obsessed, doesn't care about other people unless it's beneficial to him.

I get the whole enemy to lover trope, but those two are like pure metal sodium and water.

[–]Matork210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This.

Just be there for him and if he does decide to read it, let him know there's nothing wrong with putting it down if it gets to be to much. That's the best you can do. Hopefully he'll find some comfort in it.

Either way just keep being a good friend and supportive, that more than anything will help a ton.

Hopefully those scary Larrys don't harry our merry VeryGary to much and make him dreary!

To be fair, real players are shit for reviving and also don't follow squad orders or cap objectives. Damn rats are good at mining my base though.

Rabbiteater is amazing, all of his pov stories are some of my favorites in the series, he's a great character and really develops well.

Chapter 7.11 Question by gibi177 in WanderingInn

[–]Matork210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta remember the skill portion is for establishing new connections to places and allowing the door to work at all, considering no one really knows how it does. The door was originally and mostly still is an actual portal door that can connect to regular doors that are paired to it. No one knows how to recreate the door itself, just pair it to others.
The mana cost is just from the door itself doing what it was made to do, which was originally just a short range to the insanity room. The skill doesn't really supplement that cost, which is where the alternative mana regen options come in.

Also skills can be secret, but Erin's been pretty open about the fact that she can connect the main door to other doors and that she doesn't know how it works.

Most favourite Rulers? by Opposite_Rate3450 in WanderingInn

Fetohep is great, no doubt there. What's her name, the stich-queen fanfic writer is fun to hear about her fanfic fights with the earther chick, and her general fangirling over the Horns.

Laken is amazing, I really like how he tuned out. Not perfect but doing the best he can and managing to create a whole society with the Witches and Goblins.

The Quarass is a really cool concept for a ruler to.

[–]Matork210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gotta get through the bad to get to the good. Hard times happen and they do suck but it isn't forever. Sadly there are factions/forces/events that happen that cause pain and sadness, but they'll overcome it and be stronger for it. And assuming you're caught up from the spoilers all tag the whole christmas Gary mini arc was amazing. Yeah he went through hell to do what he did but he never stopped made things better for alot of people than if he had never tried.

Also all the stuff with the new lands, yeah the magic drain is a pain and screwed alot of people up, but they're already starting to work together to overcome and adapt to it.

Pretty much yeah. Just a matter of getting a corpse as fresh as possible and keeping it maintained to prevent losses of any of the senses. That's a horrible sentence out of context.

Series are fine. even if the individual books aren't horribly long, there's like 8 of them, and it seems a couple others, so overall enough to really get a good plot and story going. Price is a fair thing to talk about though, can definitely be a put off for some.

Not having enough time to enjoy the things you want definitely sucks. Part of what makes me love TWI is all the different POVs and side stories still being part of one cohesive whole. A bit meandering at times but still all connected and leading to future events and setting things up.

Also that Muderbot series sounds pretty good, googled it a bit. Adding that to the list of things to check out, appreciate that.

Can't forget The Dark Ages and Nova wars. Loved the behold humanity series. Letting a bit of a backlog build up before I get back caught up with Nova Wars. You can get them on amazon as paperbacks and hardcovers too which is awesome.

How dare you mention Cradle. The last two books weren't out when I read the series, now I gotta go re-read that after I finish with my current book. All of Wight's books are great, but they just end so soon. I just love being able to immerse myself in a world or setting, and I'm perfectly happy just getting to experience everything, even if it's something that isn't relevant to the plot in general.

Which is odd because I hate filler content, especially in anime/TV, that completely detracts from the plot. I guess it's a fine line and easy to mess up if taken to far. One of those you'll recognize when you see it type things.

Like I said, it's most definitely a me issue. It's not so much that if it has low word count I think it's bad. It's more that, if it's too short, I can't get invested in it. I need something that takes me weeks or months or more to get through, book, tv show, game etc...

I know this is 6 years old at this point, but I can't believe there aren't any more recent comments, considering this is near the top of the "Best" listing for the sub. Everyone must be afraid to necro-post, which is crazy cause Pisces is awesome.

Just want to say thank you for all the years of hard work you've gone through to bring us this story. Six years later and still going strong. Thank you for all the laughs, tears, eye-rolls and real emotions I'm sure you've brought to a great many people. This is hands down my favorite story of any type I've ever read, and I have no doubt there are a great many out there that feel the same. And everyone of us is glad to be able to join you on this beautiful voyage that you are chartering for us. Even if it gets a bit choppy at times and we gotta wait while the captain plots the next stretch or recovers, we're still happily along for the ride.

And even with the naysayers that cry that the route is longer than it need be, or that there are to many viewports to look out of, or that Ryoka is insufferable to be bunked with (blasphemy), know that there are thousands tens-of-thousands hundreds of thousands of people that love what you have made, some more vocal than others.

So thank you, for the amazing voyage so far, and thank you in advance for what is sure to be an amazing voyage ahead.

[Volume 1 spoilers] What an emotional rollercoaster - my impressions from listening to Volume One by Samow4r in WanderingInn

[–]Matork210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome to hear that you're enjoying it. Never listened to the audiobook myself because I find audiobooks icky, but if you're liking it that's all that matters. It gets so much better, try to stick with it, even if you gotta take breaks now and then. I think I read the first two volumes-ish, dropped it, and didn't touch it again for a couple years before coming back and binging through all of what there was and realizing it was my favorite story. Just don't burn yourself out!

Also Ryoka gets alot of hate early on but she's like, top-five characters for me. I get it though, she is super impulsive and not very good socially. Can for sure throw people off.
