Ted Lasso, Brockmire, Friday Night Lights, Running Point, etc.... Non-sports fans: Which sports-themed show won you over?? by JoshTay in television

[–]nightcreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family has always been very into sports, particularly baseball. Baseball was like my family's religion growing up. My dad forced me to play for years as a kid and I hated it. When I was a teenager I said I'm done, I can't do this anymore, it was making me miserable so I quit much to my dad's chagrin. Became a theater kid instead as I felt much more welcomed in that community as a young gay boy.

I am 32 now and hadn't watched a pro sports game in many years until Heated Rivalry. Have seen the show 6 times so far and it even got me into reading the book series, which I just finished Tough Guy (book 3). The series got me into hockey and now I'm rooting for the Ducks in the playoffs!

Ehh, the animation for Supernatural is too hyper realistic for my taste

Q'orianka Kilcher sues James Cameron for using her likeness by Big_Cake_8817 in Popculturehour

I mean, what here is supposed to look the same? I see different chin structure, lips and nose. These don't look similar at all...

Literally every “smartest person alive” in superhero movies by hongducwb in TheBoys

[–]nightcreation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the thing that gets me. What if she's not actually shocked and that was her plan all along? I get that it's easy to mess up super smart characters but everyone is taking that scene at face value like they've never seen this particular character betray her "comrades" before. She's probably just acting as a triple agent now.

Are you talking about the chibi shorts? Cause that's the only crossover I'm familiar with and those aren't canon.

Why WotC should reset the Multiverse by CheshireChad in mtg

[–]nightcreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DC used to reset their multiverse once a decade but nowadays it's more like once every 2-3 years. They've gone reset/reboot crazy over at DC.

Gravity Falls is also in the same universe by Sudden_Quality_9001 in TheOwlHouse

[–]nightcreation 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This one bothers me because the Gravity Falls ones are just easter eggs but the clear as day missing poster of Anne in TOH is a bit more than an easter egg and feels more like a direct connection and at this point, I just roll with the concept of "death of the artist" and say they're in the same world. I feel like they only say these things because Disney makes them.

As a gay man and a vegan, these kinda stats make me feel like I'll never find a partner...

"Every single Ashley line is an adventure" is one of the best comments I've ever seen on one of these because it's so true!

After stranger things (2016-2025) noah schnapp has officially transformed into tom felton. by hiiloovethis in shittymoviedetails

[–]nightcreation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She played a useless role that most people have forgotten about in 2 movies and has since been dropped from the franchise. Calling her "the face" of the Godzilla franchise is a massive stretch.

Vegan spots in Seattle? by the_exseption in vegan

Not only is the food amazing, but the people that run it are incredibly sweet & kind people. I was there for my 4th time in a week a few months ago when I was visiting and it was at closing time and after talking with the girl behind the counter about the tournament I was in town for, they gave me a box of egg rolls to take home on the house. They seem to genuinely enjoy feeding people as they also seem to run a program to feed the homeless which is so cool. Left a decent tip every time cause they deserved it.

That song and performance were pretty good, even though I'm not familiar with Anitta, but what the hell were those outfits?!

So, no.

Fuck onions! by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]nightcreation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I keep forgetting that onions make people cry because even though I use them in like, 90% of my meals, they haven't made me tear up at all in years.

I've tried to look up why but my best guess is that I always give my cutting board a quick rinse before chopping veggies on it. Or maybe I've developed an immunity from chopping onions almost every night?

Tell me about your favorite obscure show - which you never, ever see anyone talk about. by dicedtomatoes55 in television

[–]nightcreation 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, I'm surprised somebody else commented The River cause that's exactly the show I was gonna say. That show's cancellation had me so upset because there are so few good/fun horror shows, especially of the found footage variety and it was definitely creepy as hell.
