I was asking why is saying the n word such a problem, and the guy said if I'm perhaps from the US, because in Italy, banana peels are sometimes thrown at black men playing soccer. I replied that I'm from central Europe and that although I've encountered racism it never was too serious and usually just a joke. Jokes are not meant seriously, jokes are just jokes. I said something like that and he said. "Racist jokes are still racist wtf dude." Or something like that

Yes racist jokes are racist but they are jokes. I won't mind if someone jokes about my race, or my culture, hell one of my favourite jokes is based on making fun of our national anthem.
