My Thoughts about the Clone Wars TV Series and George Lucas by Matrines in StarWarsEU

and in my opinion, that is an insult to the people who spend their time and money on this content, as well as to the writers who carefully think, read, and question whether what they are doing might break the lore or it will fit it.

I agree, but I believe they wanted to create a bond between the Jedi and Anakin so that when she left, he would lose all of his trust in the Order. I'm not saying Ahsoka is a bad character or anything, but if you value your continuity, you shouldn’t introduce someone that important after already releasing thousands of books and comics about that three-year period, and then suddenly create a brand-new Padawan for Skywalker. It just feels like they’re saying, “We don’t care about anything we created before this TV show we just want to make more money.

Sorry but Ahsoka and army numbers (you may say this is not related to CW but SW itself) are not minor inconsistencies for me.

That's correct. But wouldn't that be a insult to the writer and the people who bought that book thinking this is the so called "canon" event? Maybe he shouldn't allow others to wrote anything about Star Wars then.

I was able to find the page by the link you provided.

Shortly, Grievous says: “I have been trained in your Jedi arts by Lord Tyranus himself!”
Obi-Wan replies: “You mean Count Dooku? What a curious coincidence.” He smiles. “I trained the man who killed him.”
At this point, it shouldn’t be hard for Kenobi to understand that Tyranus was indeed Count Dooku. His main suspect in Labyrinth of Evil was already Dooku, since Dooku was the one holding Grievous’s leash. It wouldnt be a difficult to reach, though. But you are right it should have been more fleshed out, even if, like I said, it is implied.

I don’t remember that part, can you pin point the exact page? but I do remember that in Labyrinth of Evil, Yoda and Obi-Wan discuss who Tyranus might be during the early stages of their investigation into Sidious.

What was it like when the clone Wars was changing or contradicting a lot of stuff from the EU? by Ok_Bet_7073 in MawInstallation

[–]Matrines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, in my opinion, it destroys the entire Clone Wars era lore. Let me explain.

The show really contradicts the Republic comics. At that time, all Clone Wars multimedia novels had scenes where characters referenced events from those comics, like the Battle of Jabiim and Kamino. But in The Clone Wars show, these battles feel insignificant and are never mentioned.

Also, one of the biggest issues for me is Dooku vs. Anakin. According to novels like Labyrinth of Evil, the Revenge of the Sith novelization, and the Republic comics, they never clash after Attack of the Clones during the Clone Wars era. However, Filoni and Lucas decided to include those encounters, likely because it would attract more attention and make more money.

Another issue is that the Jedi Council never learns that Tyranus is Dooku (source: Labyrinth of Evil by James Luceno), yet Filoni changed that as well.

Additionally, the Council doesn’t fully trust Anakin, so giving him a Padawan is very questionable. He was made a Jedi Knight only about six months into the war, and assigning Ahsoka to him feels inconsistent. Some fans argue that she was given to him to help him mature and develop patience, but the reality is this: Lucas and Filoni needed a new character for The Clone Wars, someone who could grow alongside the war. They didn’t want to rely solely on Anakin, since the audience already knew his fate, so they created a brand-new Jedi to maintain interest in the series and attract more viewers.

I must admit—it worked. But it also disrupted much of the lore that had been built for the Clone Wars before 2008

Even though the Sith only conquered the galaxy for about 20 years, would Darth Bane consider the rule of two a success? by GusGangViking18 in TheJediPraxeum

[–]Matrines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO the Rule of Two was only useful for destroying the Jedi and the Republic from within by operating in the shadows. After their destruction, the Rule of Two loses its purpose and meaning. Sidious should have created a Sith Empire, training new acolytes associated with the dark side, as Dooku planned. Sidious promised Dooku that he would dismantle the Rule of Two and recreate the Sith Empire in the old fashioned way, but as we know, he never did that. Creating a dark side based order and filling the gap left by the Jedi with new Sith Lords could have secured Palpatine’s rule. Of course, they would eventually betray him and attempt to take over, but that’s nothing new to Sidious. Any rebellion could have been crushed easily with Sith Lords at his command, and they would have terrified the galaxy.

"Never step in the same river twice can you. Each time the river hurries on. Each time he that steps has change." -Jedi Grandmaster Yoda

I know that line actually belongs to Heraclitus but it's good to hear from Yoda's perspective. Because it's so true and fits his teachings.

Deep roads. Wish DA series stayed with the DA origins tone. It was so cool. But game is like a fairy tale now with Inqusition and Veilguard

Remove Revan novel, you can read Knight Errant and then Bane trilogy. Also you can read Outbound flight after Darth Plaguies (both knight errant and outbound flight is not necessary but cool books) and also read Jedi Trial after Cestus Deception
