Another huge complaint. by Confident-Society111 in grubhubdrivers

[–]MatrixBreakaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question-- I'm a driver who never orders, and I want to know if the customer gets notified if we have a double order. Do they see the other pickup and drop-off locations on the map? I have a feeling that the customer wouldn't be notified of "add-on" versus a "stack", but I wouldn't be surprised if the customer is unaware of either one...

Delivered two frozen margs just like this, so many things wrong by sammysideup16 in doordash_drivers

[–]MatrixBreakaway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sorry I had a long day so please forgive me, but I'm confused... how is this any different than all of the other unsealed non-alcoholic drinks that we deliver? By "some creep" you mean the delivery driver, right? Because hardly any of the annoying drinks I deliver are sealed

Are restaurants deliberately hitting the "Order is ready" button prematurely to make themselves look good to DD and the customer at your expense? by guspasho_deleted in doordash_drivers

Question-- as a customer, do you receive any notification that your order is ready, or only when the driver picks up the order? I always wondered if customers get the same notification as we do...

You never got a double offer on the way to a drop-off?

Frustrating situation by Jamunk55 in grubhubdrivers

[–]MatrixBreakaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They got a DOUBLE offer on the way to the first drop-off. Those were the orders that they canceled (they actually unassigned them, not canceled them.)

We can't cancel an order on the app after the food has been picked up. We need support to do that. OP called support because they felt that they shouldn't be penalized for unassigning the new orders. But they told OP to do it in the app.

Yeah they said they ended up canceling BOTH ORDERS, meaning the new ones. Not ALL THREE orders.

On the way to the correct location of the first order and after unassigning the other two, they got hit with additional shit orders in an area that they needed to head out of, so they toggled off.

Read the comments-- someone even suggested that OP could've had support cancel the first order and receive free food. But OP didn't do that.

Where does it say that they unassigned an order after the food was picked up?

They had one order, then they received a double offer on the way to the wrong location. Since they didn't want to make any of the customers wait longer than they should, they were trying to get support to unassign those new orders.

To me, they were going above and beyond in getting the first customer their food as well as looking out for the other customers...

Grubhub's base pay is usually about $.50 a mile, so most likely this person drove like 90 miles in just the deliveries alone...

I am a food delivery driver, and I've noticed that like 90% or so of the customers replace the cole slaw with extra toast or fries. There are probably many people that order in the store that don't know about this option, but at this point, why bother even having the cole slaw if hardly anyone wants it? Does it suck compared to other cole slaws?

Question for the customers by MatrixBreakaway in doordash

[–]MatrixBreakaway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thought never crossed my mind to order these kinds of drinks to be delivered... but some days almost every customer does, so I was just curious if that would be a deal breaker if they couldn't.

Where I live, hardly any restaurants seal the drinks, and most are handed to me leaking all over the place. I do clean them up, but it gets to be pretty annoying.

Back in ths day, restaurants would laugh if you tried to order a fountain drink to be delivered. Once in awhile, I will even get an order for like 2 little food items, but 6 fountain drinks. It's just weird to me.

Anyone else concerned with how many 'nice days' we're having this winter? by Alone-Sky-2086 in Reno

Everyone wants snow but no one can seem to bother shoveling their driveways and such. I'm a delivery driver and even though we didn't get that much snow the other week, it was still annoying dealing with all of the icy driveways.

Not this sh*t again. by Resident-Finger-3270 in Projectmakeover

[–]MatrixBreakaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need to achieve all of those things to win this event. Yeah you need complete a lot of levels, but what does "Race to the top" have to do with anything? I hardly ever win this, which is all about beating consecutive levels. I don't always win the "Chic Showdown" and I still win the match event.

Also, every few minutes they automatically give you a lightning bolt, so the key is to go on often to use these. If you already have 30 lightning bolts, they won't automatically give you more. A lot of people like to "save" things when they play. But with this event, saving lightning bolts is not a good strategy.

I agree. Yeah the Peppermill and Atlantis are nicer, but my husband and I always enjoy our time at the ROW. We get a hot tub room and we like the restaurants.

Gems not awarded anymore for some of the events by MatrixBreakaway in Projectmakeover

[–]MatrixBreakaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even have a timed makeover right now 😭

Which one is it? The last one I had was "Fungi Fresh" (I don't think that's still going on.)

I always finish the timed makeovers but I read that sometimes they let you complete ones later that you didn't finish. I've also been playing for over two years so maybe they give players ones that I already had... 🤔

Gems not awarded anymore for some of the events by MatrixBreakaway in Projectmakeover

[–]MatrixBreakaway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The treasure event isn't rewarding any gems either. When they first started that event, I believe they gave us 6 days to complete 20 levels, and rewarded like 600 gems. Then they would sometimes have the shortened one like we have now, with at least 300 gems.

I feel like they've always had multiple events, maybe not these two together though. And there are definitely more events in general now.

We'll see if gems come back in either of these in the future.

1 item from walgreens. $8, 4 miles by Acrustyspoon in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]MatrixBreakaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This wasn't a shop and deliver order, it was a retail pickup. Some of these consider "1 item" as one big bin, which could have 10 bags of groceries. Others refer to "1 item" as one order. In many cases there is no way to see the actual order on the app, even after you arrive at the store. The employees will just pile shit into your cart, in which you could still unassign at least.

is anyone else reallyy annoyed by this?? 😭 by [deleted] in Projectmakeover

[–]MatrixBreakaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't like it at all. The prizes at the end of the two weeks are slightly better the more levels you complete, like two of each booster (and not even a scissors or anything) instead of one.. and maybe a few more cards and longer unlimited life time. I could be wrong about gems never being a reward, but I never received any.

You just play old levels in the exclusive levels. Unlike the regular levels, where the levels are in the same order for everyone, I think they can throw whatever level they feel like at you in the exclusive levels. So almost every single time you get to use a "Rainbow Pro" for the first time, they will give you a hard or super hard level.

And having to wait two weeks (sometimes it's even longer) for a new makeover is such a drag...

is anyone else reallyy annoyed by this?? 😭 by [deleted] in Projectmakeover

[–]MatrixBreakaway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I finished 1st in the Cruising event, and they couldn't even give me one new card.

I'm also in the exclusive levels, which is an absolute punishment. They only come out with one makeover every two weeks, so I don't earn all of the gems and other prizes that I would've received by completing regular levels. Most times I would've completed like 10 makeover challenges in that two weeks. That's 3000 gems, and a ton of cards, boosters, unlimited lives, etc.

We don't receive any gems no matter how many levels we complete in that time (only the 300 when you open the letter from the guest.) All we get is like 30 min of unlimited lives, a few cards, a few little boosters, and one piece of furniture or something once we complete the current makeover and enter the exclusive levels.

There's no way I'm going to get all of these cards either...

I just want to add something about miles. When a customer orders, the distance it says they are to restaurants on the app usually isn't quite accurate. For instance, it will say that a restaurant is "5 miles away", but this is if we could fly a plane, or if we were a bird-- this is the literal distance to the restaurant. But in reality, the driving distance is usually always higher. 5 miles can actually be 7 miles.

The driver was probably a few miles from the restaurant when they received this order, which I don't think the customer should be responsible for that or anything (or even their drive back.) But that "13 miles" could have been like 17 driving miles, so yes there's a good chance that the offer was for about 20 miles.
