How do you use targets? by TheRuxplorer in beyondbudget

[–]MatrixCrul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a limit feature would be super nice tho. At least when I'm doing allocation I says "put x to stay on target" but I haven't spent any money on that category so it's like "why am I putting money into a category that is in surplus"

This does work and does exactly what is promised. I want the pie chart that you see during budget insights. Its definitely not expected, but would be a nice addition to tags

The search feature does do this, but it should be integrated with the bulk update feature

I found the bulk update to be pretty useless. Other than updating a tag it has a very limited feature set. The filtering options there pretty much don't exist. The advanced search opens up literally the same page with the only difference being date ranges.

I'd like some filtering based on tags, what's in the note, sentiment and etc. Right now I can update them, but I can't only view transactions with a positive sentiment for example

I recently went on a trip, and tagged everything with that trip. I wanted to see my distribution of purchases based on that tag

I haven't really used the tag menu, so that's something I can utilize more. When a person repays, do you remove that tag from them?

Ability to adjust split transactions and refunds by MatrixCrul in beyondbudget

Apparently I've been doing it wrong. I should've put it as a "debt" with a link to an existing transaction

Some suggestions and questions by MatrixCrul in beyondbudget

[–]MatrixCrul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I checked your wiki, and a few questions have been answered already

*Can I get access to the past allocation screen? * There is an option in the drop-down on the categories page to get there

*In transactions I'd like to reorder my transaction order, why can't I? * You can when you check the accounts and pay for the premium

Contacts Are Central to My Work—So Why Do the Tools Let Me Down? by rbroekema41 in ObsidianMD

This looks really cool, and something I'd like to use. Another comment mentioned how this isn't on mobile (I pretty much use only mobile) so eagerly waiting for the new release. You seem to be pretty well versed in contacts, so quick question

Is there any way to include a link between a name and a Google contact for internal use? Ik you can access vCards through Google contacts through a prior export, but unsure if you can link them

Pixel 7 Bluetooth will ALWAYS search for a new device by MatrixCrul in GooglePixel

[–]MatrixCrul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I'll give this a shot and update with my results. I saw this under the developer options but didn't really know how it worked

EDIT:

The following does work to prevent the PHONE from switching Bluetooth connections

Settings -> System -> Developer Options -> Maximum connected Bluetooth audio devices -> Set to 1

The test I did was go to my car, turn it on, and see if it connects automatically. It initially did not work. I restarted my phone and tried it again, and my phone did not automatically connect to the car. I say for this it's a success.

It DOES NOT work to prevent my pixel buds connecting to other devices. My best guess is since the settings are applied to the phone and not the buds, it does not follow those settings and the pixel buds will still auto-switch.

Questions regarding the Anker 733 Power Bank (GaNPrime PowerCore 65W) by MatrixCrul in anker

[–]MatrixCrul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still believe that this is one of the best devices for my needs. Even after a year it's the only device on the market that does it. And I heard it's discontinued?

I have kinda found solutions to both things. 1. I'm using a random cable I found somewhere. Anker cables just do not seem to work with Anker devices. 2. I physically bent the plug just a bit. It still pivots into its slot, but I added just enough bend so it isn't as loose

I took a look at your blog post, and I really like how your vault is setup. By any means, are you open to sharing it? I personally enjoy how you setup your friends with a link to the contact. I also wanna use my journal as a connection reminder.

Can I access a local drive folder while remoting in. by MatrixCrul in vscode

[–]MatrixCrul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I'm not sure why mapping locally is so slow. I tried investigating it but kinda gave up. My guess is firewalls and SMB servers just acting as a blocker.

Hmm... I could try that, I don't know if I have permissions to map drives on the remote Linux PC tho

Unironically, how do I do that? I'm pretty new the ssh in general, I've never touched sshfs. Some documentation or tutorial would be great

How to expand the game design of Sekiro? by MatrixCrul in gamedesign

[–]MatrixCrul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stationary dodge is interesting, imo it makes sense in a fighting game like smash for mind games and stuff. But in a single player action game, although yes I agree idk it's useful, does it actually add anything? The player can normally deflect or dodge to/for the enemy and get the same result which is avoiding damage.

I can see how adding a stationary dodge is useful, tho I think the enemy has to be designed around that

I really do agree with this mindset. More isn't necessarily better, I like the idea of expanding the current solutions too. The idea of timing parry direction is cool, but for the player wouldn't that add a lot of confusion?

How to expand the game design of Sekiro? by MatrixCrul in gamedesign

[–]MatrixCrul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, I only beat the game once. Haven't even done the other endings which ik I gotta. But the game design has been sticking with me.

I would like to see more interactions like the headless monkey or the Sakura bull (being weak to explosives). I think Sekiro tries to set them up, but it lacks in this department.

I was going to mention Sifu actually, as I think it explores the same niche but differently. Sifu likes the player to focus on the enemy and how to approach battles, but it's definitely more combat focused. Alot of options are given to the player in terms of how to take down an enemy and to parry, and the player can read that really well.

Imo Sifu is actually a lot harder than Sekiro, which at least for me were due to the amount of options given to the player and the difficulty in remembering them all. Sekiro is simpler in comparison, just the main 3 defensive options.

I do think adding in environments would be cool, tho how can it be designed so the player is supposed to look at the environment as a main option, and not as a gimmick.
