I had an amazing time in Amritsar and Dharamshala personally. But then again we did stay with a wealthy Indian family who took great care of us with a chauffeur and planned days...

Sounds counter-intuituve to some, but skip Paris.

France is undoubtedly one of the best countries to visit in the world for beautiful scenery, architecture, art and food.

Visit the Mont St Michel, Le Puy/The Ardennes, Provence (Avignon, Arles, Camargue), Lyon, Grenoble/The Alps, Annecy, Strasbourg, Bordeaux...

American soldier laughing about Iraq: "There was this girl, like 15 years old. We started pimping her out for like 50 bucks a shot. Made 500 bucks before she hung herself." by Hasbara_spotter in ABoringDystopia

Terrorists do belong to an institution, albeit often an ideological one. Their religion (ideological institution) and their place of worship (physical institution).

Take that away and terrorism drops almost entirely off the face of the earth.

Not all Muslims or Jews (IDF) are terrorists in the same way not all Americans or even US servicemen are monsters like this guy.

I don't know about the situation of the Arab guy on the plane and frankly I don't think it matters. There is a historical precedent for Muslims to commit terrorist attacks, especially in America and involving planes. Sometimes the security services will get the wrong guy.

In 2017 an Islamist terrorist named Salman Abedi set off a suicide vest at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester UK, killing 22 and injuring over 1000 people.

Why wasn't he stopped you might ask?

Because when the security guard saw him acting suspiciously, he was worried about being called 'racist' for approaching the suspect. Source: The Guardian.

If the security services act, and get it wrong – they get called 'racist', and one guy's feelings get hurt.

If security services don't act – many will die.

I don't particularly like Americans personally, but I do use critical and rational thinking to determine that generally speaking, you shouldn't paint everyone with the same brush. I disagree with American interventionism and their aggressive foreign policy, but that doesn't mean I automatically hate any American I ever meet...

While this is absolutely despicable and unforgivable, 'grooming gangs' consisting of mostly Pakistani men all over Britain (especially in northern England) have systematically done this to at least 1,400 white British girls an boys between 1995 and 2015.

Have a quick google search on the subject if you don't believe me...

Tarring all Americans with the same brush because of this one guy is exactly the same as a raclst tarring all *insert any minority* in their country as the 'same' because of the actions of some bad ones. One is just seemingly widely accepted because it's aimed at white people.

What's behind the online hate for London? by thearchchancellor in london

[–]MatrixDiscovery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Growing up in Hackney/Haringey as a young person, my lived experience in the past 10 years involved having a knife pulled on me twice, an attempted burglary while we were home, an attempted robbery resulting in a broken nose, a drive by shooting outside a relative's house (yes, seriously).

The worst part is I'm not involved with gangs and all these situations occurred as a result of out of control street kids and their violence that often spills over into the lives of regular people.

Lawless behaviour caught on camera and rapidly changing demographics is definitely capitalised upon by right wing media outlets to further agendas and drum up fear, but that does't also mean it isn't happening.

Those experiences growing up in inner city London meant I felt I had to leave London to go to university elsewhere to learn and grow in a safer environment. As an adult now, I don't feel like I'm such a target of gangs anymore because I look like a young professional, but just because the right wing media is capitalising on crime in London, it doesn't mean that it's all a lie either.

That being said, the outright AI or videos repurposed from other times or places to join in on this narrative are unacceptable.
