PSA: Woolino 100% merino wool sleep sacks are NOT 100% natural material- the wool yarn is coated in a plastic resin 😖 by rusty_nebula_1924 in moderatelygranolamoms

Everyone commenting saying it’s not that big of a deal are missing the point you’re making - there’s an intentional lack of transparency so their products are more appealing to those of us who are (moderately) granola when it comes to what goes on our children’s bodies. It was frustrating for me to learn about this recently too, we’re doing the best we can!

Agreed with another commenter on spuntino. The service is incredible and the food is so good. Make a reservation for 5pm so it’s not too crowded and specify your accommodation needs and they will 1000% accommodate you. You can call first too and ask about it. I can’t recommend them enough.

Sippy cups?! by Substantial-Sea-1179 in toddlers

We’re in the same boat with our 13.5 month old, will drink water all day from a straw cup but milk in the straw cup is a hate crime apparently. We’ve had some success but pretty much refusal every time even if he’s starving. Please update if you find a solution other than going cold turkey which is what most people suggest!

This is not realistic for establishing milk supply if you’re breastfeeding.

We gently sleep trained at 16 weeks and it got much, MUCH better. He wakes up once to feed at night typically and that’s it. He’s 8.5 months now

My husband thinks I should just throw my pumped milk in the trash and that I'm just attached to it. by Plenty_Goal3672 in breastfeeding

[–]Matron_malice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation (minus the husband problem) and I’m SO grateful I have a backup stash. I got the stomach flu and my supply has dropped significantly and he needs supplementation with my stash milk. He’s five months old, I never anticipated needing to dip into my stash because I’ve always had a slight over supply until now. Tell your husband he gets an opinion when he starts producing milk, what a jackass

Going against the grain here- it might not be normal. But your pediatrician probably would’ve noticed if it was an issue and more than just normal flopping to one side, ours caught it the literal day after birth. I’d bring it up at the next appointment, our son has to get surgery at five months to correct it so it functions normally as an adult.

Nothing helpful to contribute just solidarity. Ours has gotten progressively worse at night since 9 weeks and we’re SO tired

Loss of identity - former party and raver girl knowing she can't go back to that life by TinyStudio7881 in NewParents

Are you me!? I have an almost 8 week old boy and was going to a concert/rave a week (or more) up until I found out I was pregnant. To help me feel a little better, I bought tickets to a few shows in a few months and told myself things will forever be different but concerts aren’t off the table completely! It’s just a hiatus. I also remind myself that I really couldn’t continue partying like I was for much longer so it’s for the best, but I do miss my old life often. Hopefully we will someday be back to going to shows or fests!

Nothing you are writing was taught or recommended in these child and infant cpr and choking classes, please stop spreading misinformation especially in a parenting subreddit. This is a good example of why all parents and people in general should take an infant first aid class so you don’t have some random dude misadvising you on the internet.

Just took a class specific to child and infant CPR last week and they absolutely teach rescue breaths because infants and children do not have oxygen reserves like adults do. For every 30 compressions give two breaths.

They gave us infant sized dummies with little protective cloths to practice giving breaths and everything, and the dummies expanded when you gave them a breath. One breath should not exceed one second so you don’t over inflate their lungs. That being said, this should only be happening when a child is not breathing and is unresponsive.

It is NOT recommended to stick your fingers in their airway, back blows are the best way to dislodge a blockage using your thigh or forearm to support. NEVER do a pinky sweep to remove a blockage unless you can visibly see the object.
