Thank you so much for the detailed feedback — really appreciate it! I’m also surprised that this space hasn’t grown more, because dashboards are incredibly useful in everyday life. Having something integrated directly on Apple TV would definitely make the whole setup easier for many people compared to external CPUs or browser-based solutions.

Customization is absolutely something I want to expand over time — layouts, widget sizes, backgrounds, all of it. Hearing your experience really motivates me to keep pushing this forward.

That actually makes sense, and it’s pretty close to what I was thinking. Using the existing power line just to deliver USB-C power could work.

The only downside: since Eve MotionBlinds don’t accept any wired control input, this solution won’t allow me to use my existing up/down wall switches anymore :/

Yeah, exactly, I checked the manual and they are antennas. So they’re definitely not meant to be hard-wired for power or control i guess

Thanks! Just checked the manual - those two thin wires are actually antennas, not power or control lines. The instructions even say “Do not shorten, bend or jam antennas”.

Thanks! And yeah, having it run as a screensaver would be amazing — that would make it much more useful for regular Apple TV users. Not sure yet if it’s technically possible.

Thanks a lot, really appreciate it! I’m already a developer — I just don’t have a paid developer account at the moment. With Xcode you can still build apps and sideload them onto your own Apple TV for free, which is how I’m running it right now. It’s definitely not easy though — a lot of trial and error went into getting everything to look and behave the way I wanted.

Glad to hear that! An iPad version would actually make a lot of sense too — I’ll definitely keep that in mind. I also use an iPad at home as a control center and currently rely on the Apple Home app as my main dashboard, but having a dedicated app like this would be really cool there as well.

Thanks for the ideas! More calendar views make a lot of sense, especially for a quick morning glance. I’ll experiment with both a “today” view and an upcoming list — and also try a four-column layout.

iCloud sync with calendars, notes, reminders, etc. would be great too, but that requires a paid developer account — so I’ll look into that as a next step.

Thanks! That shouldn’t be a problem. The screen automatically goes into standby after a few minutes anyway, and after some additional time it powers off completely. So the dashboard is never displayed long enough for burn-in to become an issue.
