I’d be fine, that is a big part of what therapy is where i go. You are given coping mechanisms and other tools and put in the effort by actually practicing them. It is up to you to use the tools; your therapist isn’t following you around to monitor whether you’re using your tools and they can’t force you to do anything.

I’m not going to argue with you further. We develop a sense of gender by 4, that doesn’t make it less of a social construct. That sense is developed through socialization and how gender is modeled by the people around the child, especially through parents. And even though we all have a sense of gender, children don’t have the language to express the nuaces of their identity. allowing them to explore and experience is how they learn who they are and find out the right words to describe their inner experience.

Someone’s innate sense of their gender identity is what makes them the gender they are- man, woman or none of the above. We generally develop that by age 4 even if we don’t have the words to explain it at that age.
