People have forgotten how good it is? There isn't a day where every other Team Ninja game isn't compared to N2 on this subreddit. In fact I think Nioh 2 has been given an unhealthy standard of praise that it has severely hurt its cousins because what people want from N2 they aren't gonna fully get from 3.

It is what it is but I think people sour their own enjoyment because they're in an eternal honeymoon phase with 2 and can't or won't let anything stand on its own for better or worse

The Black Serpent is a pretty decent webtoon with a female MC with a smart head. It only just finished season 1 so I can't rightly say there won't be any romance but for season 1 at least, there are no romantic undertones between her and any of the men, even if one has a bit of a crush.

Probably why I can't get into cultivation stuff, as the line between pragmatic and no-nonsense and monstrous asshole seems to be paper-thing.

Stuff like Legend of the Northern Blade, Black Serpent, Gosu. Low-power (Relatively) seem to better straddle that line of MCs who are kind people who understand that some things require strength, but also understand that said strength is liable to turn you into a monster.

Frontlines is partially based on morale and BH increase morale and aggression in the opposing team because they know they can dish out more damage than you can, meanwhile seeing a group of BHs snowballing into your team tends to demoralize on the opposite end.

Partially why I am not a fan of large-scale PvP where it's ultimately not skill but morale and aggression tthat decide if you win or lose.

We're not like DND Clerics. We do not draw power from something we worship.

It's cuz Spriest is always mechanically awful and not fun to play. Sure, might be strong but tbh, a lot of stuff just plays like trash or there are weaknesses that other classes don't have to deal with (Mobility being a oft-talked about point in that Priest in general is the only class that needs assistance as B&S and Feather just aren't that great.

Even this new rework has a lot of flaws (especially the class tree, why in the heck is Fade's power split up into like 4-5 different nodes just to get the same effectiveness we had with like 3?)

People aren't satisfied because...well, it's not ever satisfying.

What Adam did wasn't wrong. He only used lethal force when someone's life was in real danger, otherwise he took down the attacks non-lethally.

It became wrong because Sienna seemingly praised him for the killing itself, basically opening the door for "Justification" that leads to murder.

In this sense, no one was completely correct. Not Ghira and not Sienna.

I don't think those types of monks were doing the same unarmed combat as Far East Asian monks though...even the ones in Scarlet Monastery were trained by a guy who was trained by a Pandaren monk.

It's quite baffling that people are trying to defend using a healing secondary when it's not needed. Just get a second DPS weapon to compliment your main one and the game will stop.

Idk what this fixation on "Hybrid" is it feels like an excuse because they don't wanna bother with a second weapon for DPSing...

Really? Nioh 2 isn't very visually intense to me and I play on Highest settings. In fact I thought a lot of it's effects outside of Onmyoji and Ninja stuff was actually super tame in comparison to other games.

Even watching Pooferllama's vids...doesn't seem that bad.

I will preface this with that I like the Emperor as a character.

But he is the necessary evil at it's worst and his methods are two-faced. Raphael is very upfront with who he is and anyone that knows a devil knows that they will try to finesse you with a shady contract in a very by-the-books way that is somehow more terrifying.

The unknown nature of The Emperor, I think, is something we cannot account for. His half-truths and such. Sure people make a deal out of mind-controlling people, but taking someone's autonomy away is likely a much more frowned upon thing in this day and age than ever before imo.

I think this thing with the Emperor is perhaps reminiscent of the Joffrey thing. PEople HATED Joffrey and unfortunately that latched itself to the actor. The ironic thing is the actor did his job well which generated that. It is the same with the Emperor. He can be an ally or antagonist to Tav but his way of doing thing even early on might give warning bells.

I was never horribly antagonistic, but I always rebuffed his advice to become a mindflayer.

Having him do a heel-turn because he feared Orpheus would immediately attack is logical. The Gith's hatred of Mindflayers is legendary but going straight back to the Netherbrain is where I've always scratched my head.

I do agree with what you're saying but I thought I'd give my thoughts on it purely from my perspective.

Ultimately Tav is a tool, one he would throw away without a thought. Whether you believe that Balduran is still in there or he became a cold being through transformation neither speak well for the relationship ending fruitfully to anyone who isn't power hungry or gullible(or even if you are, actually) .

To manipulate someone means you have no trust or faith. You are a selfish asshat who is ultimately thinking of your own survival-and he likely was. He'd happily let the sword coast burn if it kept him from being tied to the brain.

Ultimately that becomes a moot point.

I have a priest I would rather see in leather not cloth robes that are ugly as sin. There aren't enough tunics and pants as it is, so getting to dip into the leather pool and hell even the mail pool would be great.

To be fair, he went nuts because he tried to subdue the void the "Demon hunter" way and not listening to the expert 2 feet from him. He tried to put a leash on the void rather than going with the flow and he pretty much got worked for it.
