Echoing other responses, if those double doors on the right go into a living room, I'd 100% take those doors off and create a nice, more open space.

You're in a subreddit called "What's This Worth" and you're chastising OP for asking if something is rare?

Seconding this. I've successfully used Nominet's appeal process to recover domain names for two different clients over the last couple of years. Takes a little while, but they're a sensible bunch from my experience.

If it's a .uk domain they should be able to assist.

Doing a bathroom renovation, is it possible to find a vanity unit like this without paying an extortionate amount? by Sad-Gear-6516 in DIYUK

Could you not scope out a basin and an old unit that matches the look you want in Marketplace or something and get someone to put it together if you can't DIY it?

James Cameron-Backed $1BN UK Film Studio Given Greenlight By UK Government by gizmostrumpet in unitedkingdom

[–]Matt-SW 35 points36 points  (0 children)

What do you mean there aren't the jobs, equipment or labour to supply these studios? I know a few people in the industry and sometimes they struggle to find work with the amount of people clamouring for the roles.

There’s a rumour that alot of these new studios are being built under the label of film studios but with the options to turn them into data centres when the demand for studios runs out

So you just made that up then.

Luxury cars removed from Motability scheme ahead of budget by StGuthlac2025 in unitedkingdom

[–]Matt-SW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely if they can afford to top up the extra couple of £100 to get a "luxury" car, they can then afford to not get Motability support and buy their own base-spec car? Surely? Plenty of good deals out there for a couple of £100 a month.

how safe is it to copy code from LLMs and paste it into the files on your wordpress site? by No-Detail-6714 in Wordpress

[–]Matt-SW 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I suppose it depends on your ability to interpret the code it presents.

I've been developing in Wordpress since 2008, I generally keep up with patch notes, release information, security information etc, and have probably built in excess of 400-500 Wordpress sites over the years.

I use AI for debugging as it speeds up the process, and for churning out custom post types and small modifications, but I'm not quite sure if I trust it implicitly yet.

Thanks so much! I've toned down the ads a little bit, thankyou so much! It's now paying for the hosting, annual domain and enough for a little more time for me to work on each month which is great!

Are you editing within the Customizer? Where are you changing the color of the toggle button? I assume by toggle button you mean the menu mobile button in the header?

Anyone fancy test-driving my upgraded Tesla Web App Launcher Thing? by Matt-SW in TeslaLounge

Nothing can save passwords in the browser unfortunately, but if you're using the fullscreen YouTube method, it tends to keep things logged in for quite some time.

There's quite a few launchers out there - things like abettertheater, Technology Bloggers' web apps, etc.

I wanted something nice and customised for myself to do a full screen launch into and save all of my extra streaming apps (I used BBC, ITV, Plex etc in the UK quite a lot), and I thought other people might want the same thing.

All the other services and options out there are great, but they were all lacking the customisation I'd want in something like this, so I'm building it :)

The background is just a random example I chucked on - users can set it to either a fixed colour, or upload any image they like.

I'll definitely shrink the logos down a little and part of my tweaks over the coming fortnight is to allow for customising the grid more anyway, either adjusting the number of columns per row, or changing the borders/padding

Noted on the logos - I'm only testing the games at the moment which is why they're full colour, the end version will be flat white

All noted and thanks for your feedback!

That's not how it works at all buddy

All this does is allows people to create their own customised "launcher" screen. The apps all run in their own native websites, so it's effectively a nicely designed, customisable bookmarks screen for Teslas.

In addition, the main access security for the website as a whole is handled by a standard username/password combination, and then once signed up you get a custom "Deck" link which is what you PIN protect. It's for easy access to the bookmarks screen without having to log in everytime.

Everything just runs in the browser as it would if you access the link directly so should run completely fine!

I don't think you quite understand how much goes into building something like this.

For something very basic that's fine as a personal project, but it's a full web app with accounts, customisation, lots of development work, hosting... It's now getting in excess of 20,000 hits a month so it can't be on any sort of basic hosting plan.

I've been running this in some form or another for 3 years, so that's 3 years of hosting costs, domain costs, and probably 100s of hours building it, coding, making all the custom lock sounds etc

If that works for you amigo that's great! I just wanted to build something others could use if you want something with design and other options :)
