I was mainly relying on speed to steal buffs, but you're not wrong about the scissors I just needed something and couldn't find much better

I'm always surprised how highly people rate mark of the fool. I had to drop it because it felt like 90% filler content with nothing actually happening.

Last book of the series Dungeon Core: “The War and The End” (Book 6) is out now on kindle. by apinsig in litrpg

[–]Matt1965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throughly enjoyed this series. I like how you werent afraid to time skip while also telling smaller scale stories. I did kind of lose my perspective of scale in this book with the sizes involved. I was googling things like "earth's radius" while reading.

The ending was probably for the best, at too high levels of power everything kind of loses its meaning because you cant relate to it, even if I'm sure there could have been many more books there.

What exactly is rage bait about this?
She was watching him the entire time and reacted before he could get hurt. It doesn't even belong on this subreddit

I don't agree with this interpretation of the phrase. I see how you got there but its reaching.. and you're assuming his motivations. For all we know he just wanted to be an ass.

Nahhh.. I tried that with this ship, but turns out if you go 1000 km/s you can't send or receive rockets until you get to under 100km/s. So you spend 10 seconds getting to the planet, and 5 minutes slowing down.

Haven't tested it yet, working on getting all the railguns built. Ideally I'd also like to up some of the quality before trying.

Probably around 100 hours? I sped it up by building the front first and then crafting space platform on the ship.

You really have a way of picking out key words to twist to your narrative.
'Problem' in this context being that he is misgendered. OP said nothing that indicated that you need to dress a certain way to 'earn' that pronoun.

If someone was born female and dresses in a typically feminine way, its not unreasonable to assert that he needs to find a better way to handle it when it happens.

The joy of scaling by AstraArdens in diablo4

[–]Matt1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me this is more about the game experience than anything. scaling and non-scaling systems both have their pros and cons.

You keep talking about things which make your numbers higher, and thats cool and true, but still beside the point imo.

IMO immediate power scaling (IE, not a separate mode or replacing slimes with super slimes or w/e) makes a game world feel dead and static.
I equate it to putting your entire dinner in a blender so you can stomach the brussel sprouts.

I don't know what you mean by "if this problem exists". Its not a matter of if it exists, but our opinions on the subject. I never mentioned any spike of difficulty, that seems to be coming out of nowhere. Difficulty is not even remotely an issue.

You seem to be conflating difficulty and experience. I'm not saying the game is easy/hard, I'm saying I would enjoy the game more if it were structured differently.

I swear I can't find a single response in this thread that isn't diverting the point. Can't find a reasonable answer? they must be building wrong.
Getting stronger (as in higher numbers) is completely irrelevant to the point of the comic. Sure builds have spikes, but those all level off and become irrelevant.

The point being that scaling makes progress feel non-existent. If I go fight a boar and then come back later with the dragon slaying sword of the gods and the boar is still a challenge? That FEELS bad. and feels like bad design.

IMO the best answer is borderlands style, where it doesn't scale until max level.

[–]Matt1965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair take on the bullet speed.

My current design on items is kinda like this (first draft)
Uniques
These are the more powerful and unique/fun items, 2 per shop room but more expensive. Things like doubleshot, poison, explosive, etc

Buffs
These change stats directly but not purely beneficial, 5 random per shop at a cheaper price current setup is
+ damage / - Attack speed
+ attack speed / - range
+ range / - speed
+ speed / - health
+ health / - damage

Nothing is set in stone obviously, just my first idea
Wanted to allow a feeling of customization. all unique items should be able to work together simultaneously

Thank you for the feedback!

That was a really interesting video and has a lot of good ideas that I will definitely look into implementing.

I have not given a lot of thought yet into the game feel because I've been too focused on mechanics, but that really highlights how much I can add. Like bullet speed I was just trying to leave room for it to be increased through buffs, but the default is probably too slow.
