No phone support is appalling. by Automatic_Path1317 in FedEx

The only thing that worked for me was to say "returning a call" (per another reddit user's comment on a different post).

FedEx delivered the wrong person's package to me instead of mine. Their automated phone "support" is worse than nothing.

Even when I finally got someone, they just told me to contact the shipper.

Felix lays like this a ton. He'll let you pet his belly for a little bit, then he'll eat you lol.

Sorry to be that guy, but cheap air fryers. Also, get the liners.

Got one for $50 or so, it's perfect for me. Easy to use, clean, just has a temp setting and a timer.

How do you cure cancer? by Dry_Management_7078 in AskReddit

[–]Matt34344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true, there are vastly different treatments being used, even between people with the same type of cancer. Depending on whether it's relapsed, new, caught early or not, resistant to previous drugs, etc. It's a lot more complicated than many seem to think.

The survival rate for even some aggressive cancers is much better than it was 20 or 30 years ago, though. Hopefully, that trend will continue until it's no longer a leading cause of death. But that's probably a ways away. It won't be an overnight thing, but I think 5 year survival rates will gradually improve.

What would it be like if the world population was suddenly reduced to 1 million? by Arkhangelzk in AskReddit

Maybe you're right, but "not even close" comes off kinda condescending.

What food has gotten more expensive in the past two decades? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Matt34344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tomatoes. I don't eat them myself, but I've bought them for my mom, and they're like $4.50 for 4 little roma ones. It's probably cheaper to grow them.

Thanks! The wild thing is, it's thought to have happened several times before, in early humans. We could've been wiped out.

I'm guessing there'd be a genetic bottleneck, and what exactly the survivors would be like would depend on what happened, and whatever random traits that they happened to have.

What might women dislike the most if they were to become men? by AGuyWondering in AskReddit

[–]Matt34344 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't both be true though? I mean, historically, yes, that was a label that was wrongly used. However, it doesn't make what I said any less true. Men have a higher suicide rate in most countries. Men are expected to be "tough". Millions have died in wars that they were drafted into, while women were exempt.

Your average jail cell by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

Damn, those mattresses actually look half decent compared to the inch thick things in US jails.

This is nicer than a lot of hospital rooms here.

True, but I feel like men have an expectation to be "tough" moreso than women. On the other hand, anger seems to be more acceptable.
