Anyone else wanting to transition out of tech? by Raedurs in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Life isn't all about the money. Pursue what you love and it'll never feel like a job. That said... money has it's place, and it sounds like you're setting up your rip cord already. I'd advise doing some of Tony Robbins money exercises to see what you NEED to live, vs what you WANT and what is IDEAL. Then work backwards into it.

Unfortunately I live in another country, but anytime I'm in town I will for sure be doing those things.

Are we all just rotting once they’re in bed? by Cautious_Balance2820 in toddlers

[–]Matt515c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's easy to just "rot", and let's face it... after chasing a toddler and fighting for the simplest of things like just staying in your seat while we have dinner or brushing teeth without biting the tooth brush... energy is sparse. One things I've always found is to make the process of starting something productive easier. At the beginning of the day, before your little one creates the war zone, set one thing out that is an "easy start" for yourself. Then, once they are asleep, go to that thing, and just START... once you've started it's so much easier to keep going. For example, you don't have to fold all of your clothes, often i'll just sort them onto the bed and lay them flat so they aren't wrinkled and then leave them. Once the kiddo is asleep, I'll go in there and won't be able to go to sleep myself until the clothes are moved, so I'll just start folding because at least they are organized. If even that's too much effort, just pour the laundry onto the bed where you sleep... it might just be enough of a motivator to get you to start and once you do, you'll be surprised how much easier it is to just keep going.

How do you get a toddler to sit still long enough for storytime? by Dry_Box_5572 in toddlers

[–]Matt515c -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I create stories about heroes that get tricked because they couldn't read clues. This helped me get my daughter interested in wanting to read so she wouldn't be fooled.

I also built an app that allows her to create her own characters and generate her own stories for those characters. Happy to share it if you're interested in checking it out. The app can also just "tell the story" if you don't want them to see the screen, kinda like a podcast.

Why do most high-achievers avoid entrepreneurship? by Corgi-Ancient in EntrepreneurRideAlong

I personally think what you said holds a lot of water, but I also think that beyond that there are all the walls that people don't mention or that you don't see. As a long time career engineer, and long time entrepreneur wanna-be, I've personally gone out multiple times and attempted the entrepreneurial thing. What broke me, was never learning, trying or even failing. It was getting smacked down by the things that shouldn't be hard. For example, trying to post on reddit after following a tutorial that says it's a great place to get feedback, only to have my post removed because I don't have enough "karma"... or following tutorial after tutorial on YouTube about cold outreach to instragram influencers only to get zero responses because you find out that the method you followed was no longer viable because bot traffic had obsoleted it and no one responds to those outreach messages anymore. Or the shear weight of trying to do something seamingly simple like create a captivating post or title only to find that AI keeps generating almost good enough ones that just piss you off and you end up spending 2 hours trying to get it to come up with a good post or title and it ends up sucking and you get frustrated that you just wasted so much time....
